Mostly about the music video picture: it now stays in step with the audio, survives closing the player view or opening the mini player, and stops flickering. Plus a searchable add-to-playlist picker, transport keyboard shortcuts, and local albums that respect their AlbumArtist tag.

New features

  • Keyboard shortcuts for playback: Space or ; toggles play/pause, Ctrl+F and Ctrl+D skip, Ctrl+S shuffles, Ctrl+R cycles repeat, Ctrl+M mutes. The Ctrl+H list is now two columns with the key beside each action, and Settings ▸ General points you to it.
  • Search the add-to-playlist picker: it opens with a focused search box that filters by title, and Enter picks the top match. "Add to playlist" also stays in the player bar menu at full width.

Improvements

  • A music video is resolved once instead of on every reopen, so toggling the picture back on is instant.

Bug fixes

  • The picture now converges onto the music before it starts playing, instead of showing several seconds of wrong-moment motion after the toggle.
  • Closing the player view no longer restarts the video from the beginning: the picture keeps playing, so reopening it is immediate.
  • Opening the mini player no longer pauses the picture, and coming back from it no longer pays a long seek.
  • The picture no longer flickers or goes black when you toggle it (#107).
  • Clicking a song in a home shelf (Quick picks, music videos, covers and remixes, daily discover, long listens, live performances) plays that song alone and lets autoplay continue, instead of queueing a dozen unrelated tracks behind it. Album, artist and search shelves still queue as sets.
  • Local albums are credited to their AlbumArtist tag, so an album with a guest on one track no longer shows "Various artists" (#96). Existing libraries re-read their tags once on the next scan to pick this up.

On macOS, if the app says it "is damaged and can't be opened", clear the quarantine flag: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/limusic.app. The .rpm does not self-update; only the AppImage does on Linux.
