Highlights
This release fixes several problems with updating, reinstalling, and uninstalling tailscale-unifi.
Fixes
- Your settings now survive upgrades. Re-running
install.shto upgrade used to replace/data/tailscale/tailscale-envwith the defaults. That wiped settings likeTS_TUN_DISABLE_TCP_GRO,TAILSCALED_FLAGS,TAILSCALE_CHANNELandTAILSCALE_AUTOUPDATE. The installer now keeps your existing file and adds only settings new to this release. - Auto-update respects
TAILSCALE_CHANNEL. The update check was always compared against thestablechannel, so devices onunstablereinstalled Tailscale and restartedtailscaledevery day. It now checks the channel you've configured. - Uninstalling really uninstalls.
manage.sh uninstalldisabled the reinstall timer but left it running until the next reboot. If it fired in that time, Tailscale was reinstalled. Uninstall now stops both timers, and it no longer fails partway through iftailscaledis already stopped. - A failed update no longer leaves Tailscale stopped. If an automatic or manual update failed, the script exited before restarting
tailscaled, which could leave the device off your tailnet until the next retry. A failed update now restarts the existing version, and a failed package install stops the update instead of carrying on.
Behavior change
Re-running install.sh no longer switches an existing install from userspace networking to TUN mode, since that only happened because your tailscale-env was being overwritten. If you want to switch, follow Manually Switching to TUN Mode.
