Changes

This beta consolidates the work completed since the stable YACP 1.6.2 release. It includes the 1.6.3 hardware and
update corrections, then adds an offline dictionary, broader CJK metadata rendering, reading UI refinements, and two
EPUB layout fixes. The core CJK metadata path has been validated successfully on an X3 with Traditional Chinese book
titles. Dictionary lookup and the complete consolidated build still need broader X3 and X4 hardware testing.

Added

• Added an on-demand offline dictionary to the EPUB reader. A word can be selected directly on the current page and
  looked up in one prepared, uncompressed StarDict dictionary stored on the SD card.
• Added a desktop preparation script and setup guide for the compact .idx.oft.cspt accelerator. The accelerator stays
  on the SD card, definitions are bounded to 8 KB, and the feature performs no discovery, allocation, file access, or
  background work until Dictionary is explicitly selected. This adapts CrossInk's prepared index format and
  CrossPoint's reader word-selection approach to YACP's ESP32-C3 memory constraints.
• Added CJK detection for dynamic book metadata. When an SD-card reading font is selected, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean
  titles, authors, paths, chapter names, reader menu titles, and chapter selector entries can use that font across Home,
  Recent Books, File Browser, and reader screens instead of showing missing built-in glyphs.

Changed

• Quick Resume is now the default sleep screen for fresh settings and when applying the YACP button-layout profile.
  Existing saved sleep-screen choices are preserved.
• Renamed the previous YACP Dashboard sleep-screen option to Reading Dashboard in all 26 supported languages, making it
  distinct from Quick Resume.
• Reading Statistics now uses larger values and labels when they fit, with an automatic fallback for long translated
  text.
• Sleep image rendering now names its adaptive grayscale processing explicitly and offers a CrossPoint Original mode
  for users who prefer the earlier, generally lighter tonal mapping. Existing saved choices keep their behavior.
• The YACP setup profile now keeps X3's no-flash reinforcement on every page exclusive to X3. On X4 it uses the normal
  30-page full-clean cadence and repairs the exact legacy YACP refresh preset that could cause a strong refresh on every
  page.

Fixed

• Consecutive EPUB <br> elements no longer accumulate inherited top margins, which could eventually force each
  paragraph onto a separate page in books encoded with <br><br> paragraph separators.
• Justified lines no longer stretch each inter-word gap by more than one natural space. Lines requiring wider gaps keep
  their normal spacing instead of producing visible rivers.
• Newer X3 UC8279d panels with blank MTP data are now recognized only when two non-uniform RMTP reads match exactly,
  avoiding both missed hardware detection and false positives from a floating bus.
• The UC8279d driver now always sends the display power-off command before deep sleep while waiting for BUSY only when
  the panel was active.
• Firmware Update now checks YACP releases, selects the matching Tiny or XLarge artifact, and reports an up-to-date
  installation as no update instead of a failure.

Dictionary design

Compared with the richer dictionary implementations in other Xteink firmware projects, YACP deliberately trades feature breadth for predictable memory behavior on the ESP32-C3. It uses one prepared, uncompressed StarDict dictionary and keeps the .idx.oft.cspt accelerator on the SD card. Lookup work starts only after the user selects Dictionary, with bounded buffers and no on-device index build, dictionary decompression, background task, or persistent dictionary scan. Normal reading and Quick Resume therefore keep the dictionary path out of their normal work.

The current beta provides direct word lookup from the rendered page and an 8 KB plain-text definition view. It does not yet provide multiple dictionary selection, synonyms, stemming, suggestions, lookup history, phrase lookup, or rich HTML layout. These are intentional first-beta limits while the dictionary path receives broader X3 and X4 hardware testing.
