Main changes

No-flash X3 screen maintenance

The X3 can now use its OEM black-and-white reinforcement waveform for periodic screen maintenance. The reinforcement happens during the page turn itself, settling black-and-white text without the full-screen black/white flash of a normal full refresh.

The same video adjustments were applied to both clips to make faint ghosting easier to see. Required cleanup remains conservative: images, grayscale content, popup or indexing residue, wake and sleep transitions, manual refreshes, and non-X3 devices still use a full refresh.

Reading Achievement and Finished Books

Completing an EPUB or XTC now opens a Reading Achievement screen with reading time, sessions, average session, favorite reading period, reading span, completed-book count, and total device reading time.

Reading Stats also includes a bounded Finished Books history for the 32 most recently completed books, navigable in five-entry pages without scanning the entire SD card.

Other changes

  • Periodic maintenance intervals now include 1, 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 pages, plus Never.
  • The firmware profile chooser appears once per firmware version. Fresh installations recommend YACP; upgrades default to preserving current settings.
  • Home performs a full cleanup on entry and after closing its menu, then returns to fast updates.
  • Finished Books is reachable on devices without a real-time clock, including X4.
  • Moving a completed EPUB to /Read/ preserves its history without merging different books that share a title.
  • All 26 languages include the new maintenance labels.

Downloads

Both firmware variants support Xteink X3 and X4; the device is detected automatically.
