• Scratchpad now keeps a persistent history in a single floating window — closing won't lose work, and you can browse past notes from the title dropdown (search, ⌘N for new, ⌘P for history, ⌫ to delete with undo)
• New Settings → Scratchpads tab with retention controls (keep all, delete after N days, or keep newest N)
• New "Default View Mode" setting in Settings → General to open documents directly in Preview
• "Keep running in menu bar" setting restores menubar-only mode — ⌘Q and closing the last window drop the app to the menubar instead of quitting
