hey everyone! sentient 2.6 is here :D
we’ve made getting started a lot simpler. connect your AI and you’re straight into sidekick; personal setup can happen whenever you’re ready :)
here’s what’s new:
- set up at your own pace. connect your sources in a separate window, choose whether to run analysis now or overnight, and keep using sidekick while it’s getting to know you.
- interactive previews! explore sample proactive cards, watch Double Tap draft a reply, and play with the knowledge constellation before connecting your own sources.
- ChatGPT Free & Go can try sidekick. usage still depends on your ChatGPT plan. if you hit a provider limit, sentient gives you clearer options to retry, change AI, or upgrade.
- permissions when you need them. computer-use access is requested on your first task, and source access when you choose what to connect. if a permission change needs a relaunch, your unsent sidekick request comes back as a draft.
- Double Tap setup is more forgiving. once your knowledge base is ready, missing writing examples won’t block replies. you can collect examples later from Settings → Double Tap, using the sources you’ve selected.
we’ve also fixed the stray reply error that could appear after clearing your chat, improved connection checks during setup, and added a new onboarding demo that follows along on your actual notch!
