What's New in v2.5.9
✨ New Features & Optimizations
- Metadata & Compilation Overhaul (#106): Added proper
TRACKTOTALcounting per disc on multi-disc albums instead of the entire release track count. "Various Artists" releases now natively receiveCOMPILATION=1tags (andTCMPfor MP3) for flawless server grouping. MusicBrainz-styleRELEASETYPE(album, single, ep, compilation) is now intelligently injected into FLAC/MP3 tags. (Authored by @TomaszBojanowski) - Localized Compilation Detection: Added a new
various_artists_aliaseskey toconfig.ini, allowing users to define localized strings for "Various Artists" (e.g., Divers, Varios, Artisti Vari) to ensure proper compilation tagging across different regions. (Authored by @TomaszBojanowski) - Chronological Interactive Sorting: Added a new chronological sorting flag (
-sd) to the interactive menu (funcommand). Fetched discographies and releases can now be cleanly sorted by their release date directly in the terminal. - Security Hardening: Patched an XXE vulnerability in the
radarmodule and enforced strict SSRF validation to prevent malicious payload execution during RSS feed parsing.
🐛 Bugfixes
- Hi-Res Demo Verification Loop (Core Fix): Resolved a rigid sample check bug that falsely flagged legitimate 24-bit Hi-Res streams as 30-second demos. License evaluation is now shifted seamlessly into the Smart Quality Fallback loop, ensuring perfect high-resolution fetching without triggering false positives.
- Download Resume Corruption (#108): Fixed a critical file corruption issue during download resumes. Previously, if a download broke off and the server ignored the HTTP 206 Range header on retry (sending HTTP 200 instead), the entire file was wrongly appended to the partial chunk. The engine now strictly verifies the server's response and cleanly restarts the file if the server refuses the Range request. (Authored by @TomaszBojanowski)
