- Added a toggle to prevent background tabs from reloading. (Default: OFF)
- This feature is marked as Experimental because its long-term stability and the exact memory impact of keeping tab contents resident are still being evaluated.
- It should be perfectly fine on modern smartphones, so I'm personally using it with the feature turned on for now.
- Implemented Bookmark Import/Export functionality (Experimental)
- Dedicated buttons have been added to the top-right menu of the bookmarks page.
- Restored the Home Page feature.
- Added toggles in Settings > Appearance to customize visible toolbar buttons.
- Relaxed the row limit for the Speed Dial in portrait mode.
・Thank you for using ElixirBrowser!
It’s only been about three weeks since the v1.0.0 release, but I’ve already surpassed 1,500 total downloads and 50 stars! 🎉
While I originally built this purely for my own use, I’m incredibly happy to see so many of you enjoying it.
To be honest, I started this project with a fairly light heart, but I’ve been blown away by how difficult it actually is.
I used to be a bit frustrated with the creator of Kiwi Browser for stopping updates, but after trying it myself, I can no longer find it in me to blame him.
Initially, I thought I could make the modifications easily with the help of AI (Gemini).
However, she had absolutely no grasp of modern Chromium and did nothing but feed me constant lies—which is baffling, considering both Chromium and Gemini are part of the Google family. Why, Google?
In the end, I had to do the coding myself, though I managed to reach release with the help of a web programmer friend. Huge thanks to "SenzanKOU" for the support.
I intend to continue the updates and maintenance of this browser for at least the next 10 years. However, it is a massive undertaking, and I would be extremely grateful for any donations to keep my motivation alive.
I won’t sugar-coat it: my fingers are powered by money! 👊😆
