v0.6.4 includes everything from v0.6.3 and is the recommended version.
Mods on more copies of the game
Mods are now checked against the exact places in the game's code that they change, instead of one exact executable. So they work on more 1.21 dumps, as long as the code they touch matches. If it does not match, the launch stops and says why. Thanks to tcosi.
Mods need updated packages for this. A mod whose code changes are not all "signed" (older versions of some mods) now stops the launch with "unverified executable write; update this mod with code signatures". Update the mod: for example, Reserves + CNK Drift Gauge 1.0.6.
Mod fixes
- Mods in a deep folder (for example
Documents\CTR-NitroFueled-PC-portable) failed to import with "[WinError 3] The system cannot find the path specified" on PCs without Windows long paths turned on. They import now. - Adding the mods folder itself (or the game's folder) as a mod no longer copies it into itself without end, on Windows and Linux.
Controllers
- Turning a controller off or on while playing no longer freezes the game ("Not responding" on Windows). Controllers are read on their own thread now. Thanks to SoyAlejandroCalixto.
- In-game menu → Controllers now shows what each player plays with, automatic players and identical controllers included. Press a button and that player's line turns green, so you can tell 3 or 4 identical controllers apart.
Linux launcher
New look with a side menu, an Achievements page (your trophies, with your own PS4 trophy key) and a Mods page: mods now work on Linux too. Thanks to Brony666.
Other fixes
- Online, a racer's outfit (Coco, Grand Prix season 6) could close the game with code 3. That draw is now skipped.
Error code 23: not fixed
Code 23 is not fixed, and it can still happen on any PC. It is a GPU hang with several different causes. If you get it, send us the log of that session (last_run_<your nickname>.log in the game folder). Copy it right after the crash, because the next start overwrites it.
Downloads
- Windows:
CTR-NitroFueled-PC-portable-v0.6.4-windows.zip. Python is included, so you don't need to install anything. Unzip it over your current folder, or into a new one and let the launcher bring your settings. Then openCrash™ Team Racing Nitro-Fueled.exe. Download the zip from this page, not "Source code". - Linux / Steam Deck:
SacredFire-v0.6.4-x86_64.AppImage. Data, saves and the nickname key stay in~/.local/share/sacredfire.
You need your own copy of the game: CUSA13795 or CUSA14876, base game and 1.21 update.
Thanks to tcosi, SoyAlejandroCalixto and Brony666 for their pull requests, and to everyone who sent logs.
En español: la v0.6.4 incluye todo lo de la v0.6.3 y pasa a ser la versión recomendada.
- Mods en más copias del juego (de tcosi):
- los mods se comprueban en los puntos exactos del código que cambian, no por un ejecutable exacto;
- Mandos:
- apagar o encender un mando en plena partida ya no congela el juego (de SoyAlejandroCalixto);
