0.17.7 Highlights

๐ŸŽฌ The media player's close and minimize buttons work again, wherever it ends up. A player that drifted to the very top of the window slid under the title bar, which swallowed every click on it, so you could not close it, minimize it, or drag it away. It now always stays below the title bar, when it opens, while you drag it, and when the window is resized, and a player stuck up there from before comes back down on its own.

๐Ÿงพ maestro-cli output is clean JSON again. Diagnostic log lines were printed ahead of the result, so any script piping --json into a parser broke on the first line. They now go to stderr where they belong, and the CLI stops kicking off a second WakaTime download while the first check is still looking for it.

๐Ÿช Claude's answer survives a Stop hook. When a Stop hook told Claude to keep working, only what it wrote afterwards reached the chat, and the reply to your actual question vanished. You now get both, with the held-back answer first.

๐Ÿ› Send Feedback signs you in instead of turning you away. The feedback chat now runs as one of the accounts your own agents already use, so a per-agent login no longer fails with "not logged in". If GitHub needs you, Log in to GitHub runs right inside the dialog, and before you write a word it confirms your account can actually file on the Maestro repo and names the account it will file as.

๐ŸŒณ The Files pane tree reads like a tree. Files and folders at the same depth now share one icon column, so a deep project no longer looks like a staircase. Prefer classic tree lines? Turn on branch connectors under Settings > Display.

Also in 0.17.7

  • ๐Ÿ’ฌ Quote part of a reply in your next message by selecting it, right-clicking, and choosing Quote in Message.
  • ๐Ÿ” See exactly what you changed in a Maestro Prompt with a diff against the bundled default, unsaved edits included.
  • ๐Ÿ”€ Branch switching waits for pushes, pulls, and busy agents, and the branch switcher says why, instead of yanking files out from under a running push.
  • ๐Ÿ“ก Codex keeps going through a brief reconnect. A "Reconnecting..." notice used to end the turn while Codex was still retrying, and the real disconnect is now retried too.
  • ๐Ÿ›ฐ๏ธ Director's Notes stops stalling on an offline SSH remote, answering in a few seconds with that host's last known history instead of sitting on "Loading activity..." for up to 40 seconds.
  • ๐ŸŽฏ The Director's Notes Help tab explains the Ideal End State, shows whether you have set one, and takes you straight to the setting.
  • ๐Ÿ”Ž Clicking a node in the Document Graph keeps your zoom instead of re-framing the whole graph.
