Tomb Raider: Legend VR 1.1.0
OpenXR support, a settings panel in the headset, god mode, body physics and a set of fixes. Bug reports with logs are very welcome (see Reporting problems below).
Download: TRLVRmod-1.1.0.zip. Unzip it, copy everything inside Main - Copy these into the base game folder into the folder containing trl.exe (replacing the 1.0.0 files), and follow READ ME FIRST.txt.
An existing trlvr.ini keeps your settings. New settings are added with their defaults.
What's new
OpenXR, with OpenVR as the fallback
- The mod now uses OpenXR by default, through
openxr_loader.dll(Khronos 1.1.63, built from the unmodified source). - If OpenXR can't start, it falls back to OpenVR / SteamVR on its own. To always use OpenVR, delete
openxr_loader.dll, or setvr_runtime = openvrin[vr]. - The hands sit in the same place under both runtimes, so your hand tuning carries over.
- The main menu shows the version and the runtime in use, for example "TRL VR 1.1.0 (OpenXR)".
Settings panel in the headset
- Opening it: hold both sticks in for 0.6 s (Oculus Touch: hold the left menu button). On the keyboard, press Insert.
- Using it: point with your main hand and pull the trigger, or use the sticks and A / B.
- Changes apply at once and are saved to
trlvr.ini. - What's in it: cameras, picture, body physics, god mode, theatre, the board diorama and controls.
- TR7-Menu-Hook: when it's installed (the loader the Lara Remastered Player Model Mod needs), its options are in the panel as an ordinary section:
- refill health, next outfit and game speed;
- wireframe, hide UI and the debug keypad;
- the settings it saves for its next start;
- a button that opens its full menu.
God mode and body physics
- God mode (
boardview,board_god_hand = 1):- pinch or make a fist on Lara to pick her up and carry her;
- let go mid-swing to throw her (
god_throw,god_throw_strength); - she falls, bounces off walls and lands with the game's own physics.
- Chest and rear physics in third person: they give and bounce as she moves and when your hands touch them (
body_soft,body_rear). - Body push in god mode: a hand leaning on her pushes her body away, and it springs back (
body_push).
Third-person camera
- Smooth view changes: switching between classic, shoulder, board and first person glides instead of cutting (
view_transition_seconds,0cuts). - The palm sliders have a third bar, side, which moves the camera left or right of Lara. Classic and board start centred; shoulder starts over her right shoulder, and the bar also reaches over her left.
- Each camera style keeps its own size, zoom and side.
- Notches mark each default: each bar has a notch at its default, and the side bar also has one at centre. Sliding near a notch makes the knob stick there with a click.
- Your index fingertip grabs the knobs as well as your palm. Whichever touched the knob drags it.
Picture and movies
- Brightness and contrast for the headset image, in the settings panel (
picture_brightness,picture_contrast). By default they follow the game's own brightness setting. - Movies are no longer squeezed: the 4:3 intro and story movies are shown at their real shape.
Fixes
- Smoother play with some player model mods. When the drawn Lara model kept changing, the mod measured her again and rewrote
trlvr_lara_skeleton.txtseveral times a frame. Each model is now measured once. - Reverb G2: pause stays on the left stick's long press. SteamVR keeps the WMR menu button for itself.
Files
New in the game folder: openxr_loader.dll. Everything else is replaced by its 1.1.0 version. openvr_api.dll, trlvr_actions.json and bindings_*.json stay, for the OpenVR fallback.
Known limitations
- Next Generation Content is not supported (black scene). Keep it off in the Setup dialog.
- Water looks flatter than on a monitor: the game's water reflection and full-screen water effect are skipped.
- Graphics options can only be changed in the Setup dialog or in
trlvr.ini. - Cinematics play in third person. Theatre mode shows them on a screen in the room instead.
- OpenXR runtimes must support 32-bit games. SteamVR's does. If yours doesn't, the mod falls back to OpenVR.
- Windows Smart App Control blocks unsigned mods like this one. See the README.

A screenshot from the SteamVR mirror helps with anything visual.
