The solution removes the vertical black bars affecting 21:9 and wider resolutions.

1. Download the patcher archive below.
2. Run the patcher and target the file as advised.

Tested on the Steam version mainly at 2560x1080 and 5120x1440. Other resolutions are expected to be supported.
