Happy new years, everyone! Thanks for all of those who have tested the game and have taken the time to report bugs that I did not have time to notice myself.
Additions
- Added online multiplayer! Be sure to check the guide for online multiplayer. Some things like shared tank kill counts may not be synced, but those are not the most important things to me right now, and if there are any potential issues with > 2 player multiplayer or any desyncs, be sure to report bugs.
- Unfortunately, these cannot be ran headlessly. One client has to be a host.
- If another player does not own the campaign the host is trying to initiate, they will crash. This is how it will be until
Beta v1.0.
- Revamped the main menu visuals! There may be an update to where you can toggle it if you wish, for the case you are on a low-end device.
- Completely finished the Vanilla campaign! If you still have the old version, right click the old version to delete it, and then press enter to install the new one. Thanks BigKitty1011 for finishing it.
- Added a new winter/christmas theme! Either when you enable it (via
settings.json) or be 'tis the season (December 1-31 for northern hemisphere, July 1-31 for the southern hemisphere), you will be able to see the nice, cold winter. May affect low end devices' performances. - The game now supports all FPS ranges! You can now run the game on your 144hz or 240hz, or even 360hz monitor without any acceleration or issues.
- New chat box for messages to be sent to instead of appearing briefly in the top left of the screen. This is also where multiplayer messages will be sent to.
- Added a team visual to the level editor.
Changes
- Made the volume sliders have a makeshift fix in the volume options menu. Instead of the sliders working (in which they should... but won't), there will be hotkeys listed on the left telling you how to change each respective volume.
- Assets load immediately when the game starts to reduce loading overhead when loading the game scene.
- Removed a goofy typo in the main menu dedications text.
Fixes
- Fixed a few issues with the lives system.
- Fixed numerous level editor crashes.
- Other smaller background fixes.
- Fixed player shot path being interrupted by a dead tank.
TODO
- Finish achievements. UI needs to be written for it. Might not be finished by beta (?)
