APEX 6 Pro haptics unlocked!
The APEX 6 Pro's voice coils can play 2000 samples per second. Until 1.1.0, ApexSenseBridge fed them half of that. Now the full rate reaches them, on by default: haptic effects keep their 500 to 1000 Hz content instead of folding down into low tones, and the APEX 6 Pro gets noticeably closer to the way a DualSense renders them.
Warning
The 2 kHz mode has not been tested over the long term. The stability of the controller hardware under long sessions at this rate is not validated. It was checked by ear on a single APEX 6 Pro over the 2.4 GHz receiver, and light stutters can appear during long continuous effects (they were heard identically at 1000 and 2000). To turn it off, switch off 2 kHz grip haptics in the Tray settings, or pass --apex6-rate 1000.
Reworked triggers (APEX 6 Pro and APEX 5)
Every DualSense trigger effect now follows what it means, instead of a flat translation.
- APEX 6 Pro: vibration by meaning (a burst at the break point for weapons, a draw and release for Bow, smooth zones, rhythms for Machine and Galloping), twelve weapon presets, and snaps that a game's rapid effect resets no longer cut.
- APEX 5: per-zone force curves and rhythms followed from the PC, on by default.
- The APEX 4 triggers are unchanged.
Also in 1.1.0
- APEX 6 Pro: gyroscope and accelerometer, real battery level, onboard profile slots 1–4, lightbar sync.
- Several controllers: pick which APEX is bridged from the Tray top bar.
- Power-cycle recovery: the virtual DualSense stays connected while an APEX 4/5 is off, asleep or unplugged (validated on the APEX 5, not yet on the APEX 4).
- More robust automatic activation for elevated and anti-cheat protected games.
- Tray: new report window with anonymous sending, per-game tuning, manual-fix notes in nine languages.
Known limits: the APEX 6 Pro does not yet ride out a controller power cycle, and bridging two controllers at once is not supported.
