v1.0.2 : APEX 5 trigger & recovery fixes

pre-release6 hours ago

ApexSenseBridge 1.0.2

A stability release focused on the APEX 5 over the 2.4 GHz receiver, adaptive triggers and controller recovery. Thanks to everyone who sent logs, captures and videos: almost every fix below comes straight from your reports.

Highlights

🎮 APEX 5 triggers and rumble

  • Triggers no longer rattle or twitch while vibration is on over the 2.4 GHz receiver (#22, #25). Trigger effects are now sent first and rumble is paced around them. Wired behaves as before.
  • A single trigger now reaches 100% (#48). It used to top out at about 99.6%, which broke full-press actions such as the board grab in EA Skate.
  • Steadier LT/RT when one finger rests on a trigger while the other is held, e.g. aiming a bow (#40). A released trigger no longer looks held after a short receiver hiccup.
  • Firmware REV_0800 on the receiver is supported: the bridge no longer refuses to start on that firmware (#47).

🏹 Adaptive triggers

  • Bow effect fully decoded (#40, #35):
    • Progressive resistance by default, with no gun-like click (Neverness to Everness throttle).
    • Effects with a strong snap now pull, then break near the end of the travel (Control Resonant R2).
    • On APEX 5, the tension comes back when you release the trigger.
  • Older games' effects (legacy 0x11/0x12/0x02) now use the correct force scale and resistance length. They were up to six times too weak.

🔒 Controller recovery

  • A pending APEX 5 restore no longer blocks other controllers (#44). This could happen if the APEX 5 was turned off mid-session or later connected another way. It caused endless DualSense connect/disconnect loops, even on an APEX 6 Pro.
    • HidHide is always restored.
    • The APEX 5 settings are restored automatically the next time it is connected the same way.
  • "Restore HidHide" now succeeds with a clear message instead of an error after the APEX 5 was turned off (#45).
  • No more endless restart loops: the Tray stops automatic restarts after two identical failures and shows a notification. A controller that is still asleep when the game starts is retried normally.

🚀 Startup

  • Startup can no longer hang on an unresponsive HID interface (#15). It also stops promptly when the Tray asks it to.
  • Clearer logs: engine messages are no longer lost, and each startup step is logged. If startup is still not ready after 12 s, the log says where it is stuck.

đŸ•šī¸ APEX 4

  • The first start over the receiver no longer fails when the controller is slow to answer (#41).
  • "APEX profile" selector: it now shows APEX 5 only while an APEX 4 or APEX 6 Pro is connected, since onboard profile switching is an APEX 5 feature. Your saved choice is kept.

✨ New: automatic activation for manual-fix games

  • Games marked Manual fix can be allowed to activate automatically once you've applied the fix (#36, #46). Thanks @tenmo2003!
  • Toggle it from the game's detail pane with the mouse, A, Enter or Space. Excluded games stay excluded.

Better diagnostics

  • The bridge log now shows the connection type (wired / 2.4 GHz receiver).
  • The session summary adds trigger oscillation and button bounce counters, which help diagnose issues like #42.
  • If something still feels off, stop the bridge and attach tray_bridge.log from %LOCALAPPDATA%\ApexSenseBridge\logs to your issue.

Upgrading

Install over 1.0.1. Your settings are kept, and recovery data left by 1.0.1 is converted automatically.
