ApexSenseBridge 1.0.1
A maintenance release focused on adaptive triggers, performance and startup reliability. Thanks to everyone who reported issues with logs and videos: they made these fixes possible.
Highlights
Adaptive triggers (APEX 4 / APEX 5)
- More DualSense effects supported: Bow, Galloping, Machine, extra Weapon variants and the "limited" effects are now translated. Games such as Neverness to Everness and Control Resonant send these effects.
- No more stuck triggers: effects the bridge can't translate now release the trigger instead of leaving the previous resistance or recoil active (#23, #38).
- Smoother vibration effects: a held bow in Horizon now pulses gently instead of rattling at full strength (#22).
- Faster trigger response on the 2.4 GHz receiver: trigger effects are now sent before pending rumble (#23).
- Richer logs: they now record the raw trigger effects games send, to diagnose games that still don't respond (#35, #40).
Performance
- Tray window no longer loads the GPU while open: around 20% GPU before, near 0% now (#33).
- Less background work during gameplay: APEX 6 Pro haptics go idle when nothing plays, and controller input is only forwarded when it changes (#39).
Startup and detection
- APEX 5 startup no longer hangs: a stalled HID write could freeze startup until the 20 s timeout. You now get a clear error instead, and the controller test window shows the real cause (#15).
- The controller no longer flickers in the main window: an Apex 4 or Apex 5 no longer appears and disappears every few seconds (#33).
- DSX / HidHide conflict: the bridge waits up to 10 s for HidHide, names the application holding it, and offers a Retry button (#28).
- Steam duplicate input: a notification now explains how to fix double inputs when Steam was already running before the controller was hidden (#32, #21).
Vibration
- Vibration strength above 100% is now noticeable on medium and strong rumble (#25).
- The haptic activation threshold fades weak vibrations instead of cutting them abruptly (#25).
APEX 4 gyro
- Warning when the gyro sends no data: the bridge warns when the APEX 4 motion sensors report nothing. For gyro aiming, the active Flydigi Space Station profile must map the gyro to "Mouse, always on". This is now documented in TROUBLESHOOTING.
Game list
- Missing game covers fixed: they are now loaded from Steam's current artwork paths (#37).
Upgrading
Install over your existing version; your settings are kept. If you use DSX, close it or disable its HidHide integration before starting a session.
Known limitations
- RGB lightbar sync is still APEX 5 only.
- Some games may still send trigger effects in a format the bridge doesn't read. If triggers don't respond, attach
tray_bridge.logfrom%LOCALAPPDATA%\ApexSenseBridge\logsto an issue.
