v2.2.1
✨ Highlights
- System Tray & Jump List — RHI can now minimize to the system tray when closed. Right-click the tray icon or pinned taskbar icon to instantly launch your recent games — just like Steam. Double-click to restore the window. Optional, Off by default. Configure in Settings → System & Maintenance.
- Automatic Background Updates — while running (especially in the tray), RHI re-checks all mod and app updates every 4 hours automatically. Manifest changes, new mods, version bumps — everything stays current without restart.
- Global FPS Limit — new driver-level frame rate cap in the NVIDIA Settings card. Pick a VRR-optimal preset (caps at VRR range for your refresh rate) or type any custom value. Installing ReLimiter or Display Commander now automatically disables it per-game to prevent conflicts.
New
- Added global G-Sync Enable toggle to the NVIDIA Driver Settings card.
- Added global DMFG Defaults (Frame Count + Target FPS) — set once, apply per-game with a single Dynamic mode click.
- RenoDX cog Compatibility Settings can now be extended remotely via manifest — new toggles appear without app updates.
- Added RenoFX HDR Toolkit shader pack (Recommended category) — SDR to HDR conversion, tone mapping, and color grading for games without a RenoDX mod.
- Added
renodx-upgradeaddon — ITM and resource upgrades for HDR in DX9+ games. Use alongside the RenoFX shader. - Window now reopens maximized if it was closed maximized.
- Shader pack dependencies are now automatically resolved at deploy time and during preset import — selecting a pack that requires another pack (e.g. for shared
#includefiles) will pull in the dependency automatically, even if it wasn't explicitly selected.
Changes
- Engine.ini auto-deploy for all UE games —
r.LUT.UpdateEveryFrame=1is now written automatically for every Unreal Engine game on RenoDX install. Per-game On/Off toggle in the RenoDX cog → Engine.ini Settings section. Engine.ini HDR toggle moved into the same section. - RenoDX Upgrade keys are now pre-populated on install for UE and Unity games, so Compatibility Settings appear in the cog dialog immediately (no first launch required). Values are left empty to let the addon fill in game-specific defaults.
- Uninstalling RenoDX on Unreal/Unity games now clears the
[renodx]section from reshade.ini, preventing stale settings when switching between addon types. - Per-game DMFG Dynamic settings now inherit from global defaults instead of writing "Off" that blocked inheritance.
- Rearranged NVIDIA Driver Settings card layout for better grouping.
- Improved RenoDX cog dialog layout — controls properly aligned across all sections.
