What's new
- The app no longer freezes on quitting a stream or pressing Home when a controller's battery or rumble is slow to answer: on a OnePlus Pad 2, Android reported the app as not responding each time.
- Vibrate on press now works on the keys of both on-screen keyboards and on the on-screen controller's buttons, also on phones whose own keyboard vibration is off.
- PyroWave now also runs on Android devices with Vulkan 1.1 or 1.2, when the GPU has the features the decoder needs. Devices with Vulkan 1.3 keep their path.
- Settings remembers which sections you opened with More settings, so they stay open on your next visit.
- The Shortcuts page of the stream menu starts with your own shortcuts, in your order. The built-in ones follow, so a new built-in never moves yours.
- On the NVIDIA Shield, Smoothest and the FPS limit no longer let extra delay build up for minutes when a stream runs slightly faster than the screen. In replays of Shield recordings, Nightjar skips a frame when the delay reaches about 3.4 ms, where it used to wait over two minutes for 8.7 ms.
- TV library: the View only and Input only badges sit in the bottom corner of a tile, off the middle of the art, and only the focused tile's label scrolls.
- TV Settings: while Presets, Profiles or Search has focus, it is the only row highlighted. The amber mark comes back as soon as focus reaches a section or the settings on the right.
Tested. Android's 4387 tests and lint and the desktop client's 1103 tests passed. On a Retroid Pocket 6 with Vulkan 1.3, PyroWave at 1080p60 and 400 Mbps keeps its frame rate and latency (about 58.5 fps and 3.2 ms from input to output, before and after, five runs each), and with the Vulkan 1.1 path forced it streams cleanly at 58.5 fps. The Smoothest change is measured in replays of Shield recordings; on the Retroid it made no difference and dropped nothing. Settings keeping its sections open was checked on the Retroid. Not run on the real thing: a Shield, a device with Vulkan 1.1 or 1.2, and a OnePlus Pad 2, whose freeze traces led to the fix and whose cause is covered by tests. Vibration and the Shortcuts order are covered by tests, not by hand.
