This release reduces CPU work in PyroWave streaming and makes all advanced controls directly accessible.
- Lower PyroWave CPU overhead: Frame reconstruction reuses buffers, packet assembly avoids repeated copies, and unused decoder bookkeeping is skipped. Frame submission also receives higher scheduling priority.
- Pacing recovery: Paced modes recover when frame delivery improves, so an earlier slowdown does not leave unnecessary delay behind.
- One GPU boost switch: Boost GPU performance for PyroWave replaces Max GPU clocks under Settings → Advanced. “Can reduce decoding time, but uses more power and produces more heat.” It is off by default, preserves your existing choice, and keeps thermal protection active. Available on supported Adreno devices.
- Simpler settings: Previously hidden decoder, input, network and diagnostic controls are now in Advanced. The separate Developer options section and unlock gesture are removed. Debug is always available in the overlay mode list.
- Rendering correctness: Improved synchronization for PyroWave metadata and initial image layouts.
In a controlled moving-scene test on Galaxy Z Fold7, native CPU submission time fell from 2.47–2.68 ms to 1.38–1.48 ms. This is CPU submission time, not total decode or display latency; results depend on the device, scene and driver.
Turnip Gen8 v37 still produced corrupted output on the tested Fold7; use the system GPU driver on that device. Adaptive refresh remains dependent on what the device firmware exposes to Android.
Install nightjar-0.7.6.apk over your current installation to keep paired PCs and settings. The -root.apk is the legacy rooted build for Android 5.0–7.1. The AAB and SHA-256 checksums are also included.
