Flaming helmets for the development team

Servers check the project's public developer list when hosting starts and automatically give listed developers flaming helmets on their Spartans. Developers keep their chosen armor. Changes to the list apply when hosting restarts; a failed download leaves the server running with flames disabled.

Play as UNSC and Covenant campaign characters

Choose Host Game → Game type → Slayer → UNSC vs Covenant and a stock map to fight as UNSC against the Covenant. Marines and Grunts deploy for free; enemy kills earn points to spend on stronger characters for your next life. Click a character before each spawn to choose its campaign model and loadout. Each faction has limited reinforcements, and the battle ends when one side runs out or the ten-minute limit expires.

Every class uses a close third-person camera with shooting aligned to the crosshair. The Spartan class uses campaign Master Chief. Team selection, the scoreboard, and post-game standings show UNSC and Covenant in this mode. Custom gametype creators can define their own class rosters, prices, loadouts, faction names, and point rewards through the reusable deployment scripting API.

Set each player's voice volume

The player details window (the page the lobby's cards open) now has a Voice volume slider under the mute button: drag it to hear that player from 0 % (silence) to 200 % (boosted). 100 % is their normal volume. Only your game hears them differently, and your setting stays until you change it. The scoreboard's side panel (the hamburger at the end of each row) carries the same slider.

Scoreboard side panel and per-team scrolling

Every row of the scoreboard in the game menu now ends with a hamburger button next to the speaker. Choose it to open a side panel with that player's emblem, name, a DETAILS button (the same page the lobby's cards open), a voice volume slider, a mute button, and—when you may moderate them—kick, ban, or vote-kick actions. Choose the hamburger again to close the panel.

In a team game every team takes an equal share of the board: the team heading (with its player count in parentheses) is always visible, and its player rows scroll within their share when there are too many to fit. Use the mouse wheel over a team's rows or drag the thin scrollbar at the right edge to scroll. A free-for-all scrolls as one block per column. The board caps at two full-size columns. The title row now shows the current player count over the match's maximum, for example (12/16).

Bug fixes

  • Keep the killfeed and respawn timer visible in large games. Fixed HUD messages and the respawn countdown disappearing as games filled with players. Added spare HUD marker capacity for crowded games.
  • Animate Elite characters in Forge. Elite characters now animate correctly while playing Forge.
  • Join Forge maps with large zones without crashing. Joining a server that hosts a Forge map with oversized zone dimensions no longer corrupts its objects during loading. The original zone sizes are preserved, including on modded maps.
  • Honor Grenade regeneration Off in game options. Grenade regeneration's On and Off labels were reversed, causing players, including infected players, to regain thrown grenades when Off was selected. For existing game types, select Off again and save. Starting grenades None and Weapon pickup Disabled also require value 2 when editing game type JSON.
  • Keep scoreboard players visible and their controls separate. Scrolling stays within the current player list after players leave. Split-screen guests open their own details, and player names and service tags stay clear of the scores. Voice volume and team controls no longer overlap in player details. Escape closes details opened from the scoreboard before closing the scoreboard.

Install

The game client requires Halo: The Master Chief Collection with Halo 3 installed; no game files are included.

Double-click project-reclaimer-v0.9.9.exe to start the game. It finds Halo 3 in any Steam library and opens without a console window; its log is Documents\My Games\Project Reclaimer\Logs\client.log.

For remote server administration, double-click reclaimer-rcon-v0.9.9.exe, enter the host, RCON port and password, and connect. The RCON client needs no game installation. See the attached RCON.md for setup and commands.
