New features
Label Forge objects for Megalo scripts
In Forge, the host can give a placed object a Label and a Spawn Sequence: select it, open Properties → Megalo Scripting, fill them in and choose Apply Scripting, then save the map. Scripts find these objects with for each object with label "door" do and tell them apart with current_object.spawn_sequence, so one script works on any map whose objects carry the labels. Several objects can share a label. Players see the values and can save them with the map; only the host edits them. Unfreeze a frozen object before labelling it.
Bug fixes
- Games no longer crash once 35 players are in. Servers and every player in them crashed as soon as a game reached about 35 players, in the lobby or during play. Games now hold their full 63 or 64 players. Games with Forge AI spawners also no longer risk a crash when many players are on the AI's side.
- Forge starting and respawn points. Starting points and respawn points can now both be used at the start of a game and after a death. Team games keep players on matching or neutral spawn points, including when no team spawn assignment is available. Other scenery is no longer used as a substitute for a missing spawn point.
- Servers no longer crash when certain players join a game in progress. A server could crash when a player joined a game in progress: the game sometimes mistook two players' PCs for the same one. The bigger the game, the likelier it was: about 1 game in 25 with 32 players, and 1 in 6 with 64. Players and servers on this version can't play with those on 0.9.0 or older; the game says which side needs to update.
- Fixed a server crash when a lock-on weapon loses its holder. A weapon that tracks targets could crash the server, or the host's game, during a match when it lost the player holding it partway through its update.
Install
The game client requires Halo: The Master Chief Collection with Halo 3 installed; no game files are included.
Double-click project-reclaimer-v0.9.1.exe to start the game. It finds Halo 3 in any Steam library and opens without a console window; its log is Documents\My Games\Project Reclaimer\Logs\client.log.
For remote server administration, double-click reclaimer-rcon-v0.9.1.exe, enter the host, RCON port and password, and connect. The RCON client needs no game installation. See the attached RCON.md for setup and commands.
