Nightly build.
What's changed in 0.4.2217
- Hidden downtown offices come back when zoomed right in on their building
- Low-ranked office dots are hidden in packed downtown blocks
- Offline search: Gas station no longer lists EV chargers, and names match without their punctuation
- Panning stays smooth zoomed all the way in on dense city blocks
- Pauses between spoken phrases follow the voice speed setting
- Spoken directions start playing while the rest of the line is still being made
- A name search finds a business's other locations by default
- A switch to stop the What's new prompt after updates
- Other locations of a searched business load on a tap, or automatically with a setting
- Other branches in a name search come with their address, rating and hours
- Searching a chain's name lists its other branches too
- Route lines in the route picker are heavier so they stand out from the roads
- Route lines in the route picker are back to their full width; only the close-up navigation line is narrower
- The turn card no longer shows the same highway shield twice on an on-ramp
- Zoomed all the way in on a dense downtown, street names repeat less and the map pans more smoothly
- Street-name labels in navigation no longer sit on stoplights, stop signs or cameras
- The simplified map in turns no longer flickers on and off through gentle bends
- One less stutter every 400 m of a drive where the street names are already Latin
- Fewer stutters from the building-footprint check while driving and while panning around in a drive
- The route line no longer stutters the map at the end of a drive or while panning away from the car
- The blue route line is 15% narrower, so a little road shows on each side
- The blue route line no longer kinks around small traffic circles on straight streets
- "Simplify the map in turns" moved to Settings > Performance
- The blue route line follows the drawn roads and rounds off their gentle bends; place names on the place sheet are regular weight like Google's
- The mini map's turn card and time strip span the whole window
- Roundabout directions say the way the route actually goes, and no longer repeat the same roundabout as the next step
- "Starting navigation" is spoken sooner after Start, even right after the app opens
- Roads have thin edges and the blue route line has a dark outline, like Google's navigation map; the route line's junction zigzags are smoothed again
- Search suggestions can be fixed remotely when Google changes them, like search and directions
- The blue route line stays on the road instead of cutting across medians and curves
- The blue route line covers the road you drive on, and divided roads draw as two carriageways instead of one wide band
- Bake: regions too big for one pass are split into strips and joined, so England keeps updating on CI
- Search without Google finds famous places from a zoomed-out map, and the category shortcuts can fold into one button or hide
- Vela no longer thinks it is offline after the phone blocks it in the background, and tapping the offline globe checks again
