v0.2.23-vaj — VAJ edition (io.vaj.tl)

This is the VAJ edition of Termux Launcher: package name io.vaj.tl, designed to install alongside your existing official Termux app with no collisions — its own prefix (/data/data/io.vaj.tl/files/usr), its own data, and its own package repository.

• Architecture: arm64-v8a (aarch64) only. On first launch the app downloads a verified aarch64 bootstrap (SHA-256 88985cead42037536291fc2575dc04e22e4bceb1b4f1c6601e3c008ed09dc204) from the VAJ bootstrap-artifacts release and checks it before extracting, so first launch needs a network connection. The APK itself is now ~50 MB (the bootstrap is no longer bundled).
• Package repository: the VAJ APT repo at https://repo.pathayam.xyz (1,600+ packages rebuilt for the io.vaj.tl prefix). pkg install works out of the box; official Termux repos are not used and must not be added.
• Companion add-ons for this edition: Termux:API v0.53.0-vaj · Termux:Styling v0.32.1-vaj. Official Termux:API / Termux:Styling apps will pair with your official Termux, not with this launcher — both can coexist on the same device.

If you want the launcher as your only Termux, fully on the upstream package ecosystem, use the Termux edition instead: v0.2.23 (package com.termux).

What changed since v0.2.22

• New app icon: refreshed to the new cyan→green "termux" gradient mark (launcher, notification, and store icons).
• Bootstrap is now downloaded on first run instead of embedded in the APK — it is fetched from the VAJ bootstrap-artifacts release and SHA-256 verified before extraction. This drops the download from ~185 MB to ~50 MB; the trade-off is that the very first launch needs a network connection.

Same launcher feature set as v0.2.23: TAI multimodal Gemma 4 modality-scoped ids, Hugging Face model import, LiteRT embedding runtime, OpenAI Responses / Ollama compatibility, MNN 3.6.0 (UTF-8 streaming fix), dock/extra-keys glass and glow overhaul, plus all fixes listed there.

Quick user help

• Open Termux Launcher once while online so the bootstrap downloads, extracts, and launcherctl is installed.
• Run pkg update — it should report only https://repo.pathayam.xyz.
