On-Site Agent update (optional; the v2.9.0 Agent, unchanged in v2.9.1-preview1): if you skipped v2.9.0, its Agent reads a UniFi Cable Internet's signal levels. It only matters on a site with a UCI, for the Agent on your UniFi Gateway. Open Settings - Multi-Site, expand your site, and press Run It for Me under the upgrade command, or run the upgrade command yourself. If you updated on v2.9.0 or v2.9.0-preview9, you're set.

The AP Agent now runs on older MIPS access points (U6-Lite, U6-Mesh, UAP-AC-Pro, and others), and every page gets a Back button. Also two Client Performance fixes, a Monitoring fix for an Express adopted as an AP, and the radio reset warning is limited to 6 GHz.
AP Telemetry
- MIPS access points - the AP Agent now runs on older MIPS-based access points such as the U6-Lite, U6-Mesh, and UAP-AC-Pro, alongside the ARM-based U6 and U7 (#1203, thanks @dpackham for the request, @Confenet for the implementation in #1239 this builds on and production measurements across five UAP-AC-Pros, and @tusc for testing on a U6-Mesh).

Client Performance
- Fix: no Wi-Fi data for a client that just joined (AP Agent) - a phone rejoining the LAN could show no Wi-Fi data for up to about 40 seconds, until UniFi Network caught up. It now shows from the join, under the client's UniFi Network name rather than its DHCP hostname.
- Fix: stuck on your VPN client after coming back on the LAN - opened over a VPN (Tailscale, UniFi Teleport, or a plain VPN), the page kept showing your VPN client after the browser reconnected on the LAN. It now switches to your Wi-Fi client device.
Monitoring
- Fix: an Express adopted as an AP was monitored at the gateway's address - an Express (or Dream Router) adopted as an AP behind another gateway had its automatic target in Latency Targets and its SNMP polling pointed at the gateway's LAN IP. Both now use its own address (#1244, thanks @tempeduck).
Alerts & Schedule
- Fix: the radio reset warning could fire on healthy radios (AP Agent) - Wi-Fi: Radio Resetting could fire on a 2.4 or 5 GHz radio that was serving clients fine. It now warns only on 6 GHz, the one band where a rising reset count has presented before a radio stopped transmitting, and Wi-Fi: Radio Stopped Transmitting still covers every band (#1242, thanks @Jason-Morcos).
Back Button
- Back - every page now has a Back button beside its title, so an installed app with no browser chrome has a way back (#1243, thanks @KittyFarts for the request). It shows only when there is a Network Optimizer page to go back to.
Installation
Preview builds use a rolling :preview tag. Set it once and future builds - previews and releases - arrive on pull. You no longer need to switch back to :latest when a release ships: :preview gets every release too, so you're always on the newest build.
Docker (assuming you've installed already through the normal procedures listed in v2.9.0 or other releases):

macOS (native, recommended for accurate speed tests vs Docker Desktop). Same command for every preview build. release/2.9 is rebuilt when a release ships, so the reset is what keeps a later update from stopping on a diverged branch - it discards local changes to the checkout:
