github Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer v2.6.4

3 hours ago

More useful failures, and monitoring targets that survive the device moving.

See the v2.6.0 release notes for what's new in v2.6.0+, plus v2.6.1, v2.6.2 and v2.6.3.

Monitoring

  • Failed polls say what went wrong - The Cable Modem Stats, ONT Stats, Cellular Stats and Starlink Stats cards now say whether the device never answered, refused the saved sign-in, or answered with something unreadable. Same on the Test button in Settings, which used to print raw framework text at you.

Network Performance

  • Latency Targets survive a device moving or leaving - A device that changes management IP or drops off the console no longer has its target rewritten or left stranded. The old target is retired with its measurements intact, and a replacement carries over the cadence and whether you had it paused. Remove now takes a target off the list instead of destroying what it recorded.
  • Inactive series on the Latency and Packet Loss charts - A toggle brings back retired, removed and paused targets, drawn faded. A device that moved keeps its earlier stretch by default, so a long history draws as one line handing over at the move.

Cable Modem Stats

  • Vodafone Station (ARRIS TG3442DE) - Vodafone's German cable gateway, selectable under Provider. Reports channels like any other modem. (#1087, thanks @njoerd114 for the reference implementation and firmware detail)
  • Technicolor CGA Series - Technicolor CGA gateways, as shipped by VOO and Vodafone among others. Not yet confirmed against a physical unit, so treat it as new support to try and tell us how it goes. (#1124, thanks @srialmaster for the interface capture)

Fixes

  • Upstream Path Discovery review banner opens the right WAN - On multi-WAN sites it could open a different WAN's trace than the banner named. Single-WAN sites were never affected.
  • Also fixed: button alignment and mobile spacing in Latency Targets, spacing on the Starlink Stats action row, and the "Set up a monitoring interface" hint, which stopped appearing on the failures it is meant for.

Installation

Windows: Download the MSI installer below

Docker (Upgrade):

docker compose pull && docker compose up -d

macOS (native, recommended for accurate speed tests vs Docker Desktop):

git clone https://github.com/Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer.git && cd NetworkOptimizer && ./scripts/install-macos-native.sh
# or if you already have it cloned
cd NetworkOptimizer && git pull && ./scripts/install-macos-native.sh

Proxmox:

bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer/main/scripts/proxmox/install.sh)"
# or if you just need to update
pct exec <CT_ID> -- bash -c "cd /opt/network-optimizer && docker compose pull && docker compose up -d"

For other platforms (Synology, QNAP, Unraid, native Linux) or new installations, see the Deployment Guide.
