On-Site Agent update (optional, the v2.11.0-preview6 Agent, unchanged in preview7): if you'll apply Change Control plans on a site behind an On-Site Agent, or the agent sits behind a reverse proxy that closes its connection, upgrade it so that it can automatically roll back a change that inadvertently cuts the site off from Network Optimizer, and reconnect within seconds: open Settings - Multi-Site, expand your site, and press Run It for Me under the upgrade command. If you updated on an earlier preview, this one only adds the faster reconnect (and the IPv4 fallback, if you updated on preview1 or preview2).
Seventh preview of v2.11.0. See the v2.11.0-preview1 notes for all of the details on Change Control, and the v2.11.0-preview6 notes for what came before this one.
This build carries the v2.10.4 work: LAN Speed Test results under each device, with search and batch runs, a setting for a main site with no UniFi Console of its own, Managed SSH Key sign-in for cellular modems, and Firmware Rollout fixes for offline and re-meshing access points.
LAN Speed Test
- Results under each device in UniFi Device Speed Test and Other Device Speed Test, with how long ago the test ran (also coming in v2.10.4, thanks @suburbazine for the suggestions and report). A result older than a day drops off its row.
- Search, a model filter, and Run Selected in UniFi Device Speed Test (also coming in v2.10.4, thanks @suburbazine for the suggestions and report) - Run Selected tests the checked devices one after another.
- Fix: a failed test filled the alert with raw iperf3 output (also coming in v2.10.4). It shows the error on one line now, with the raw output under Raw output.
- Also fixed: the USW-Pro-48-PoE listed as a speed test target, though it ships without iperf3 (thanks @suburbazine); and both device tables scrolled sideways on a phone.
Multi-Site
- No UniFi Console at this site (also coming in v2.10.4, thanks @suburbazine) - for an install whose main site only hosts your other sites, under the main site in Settings - Multi-Site. That site stops showing as disconnected or down, drops off the Dashboard's Sites card and its Site Health average, and leaves Change Control's Overview and Needs Attention.
- Fix: the On-Site Agent update banner offered v2.11.0, a release that doesn't exist (installs built from source between previews, thanks @suburbazine), and upgrading never cleared it. It offers this preview line's Agent now.
- Fix: settings saved to the wrong site (also coming in v2.10.4) - for a user with access to only some sites, or in a tab left on one site after another tab switched sites, Security Audit settings, the client speed test target, and the Dashboard layout saved against another site, usually the main site.
- Fix: a Site Admin couldn't save the Dashboard layout (also coming in v2.10.4) from Edit Layout or Live View's Add to Dashboard, unless they were also an Admin of the whole install.
Monitoring - Cellular Stats
- Sign in with the site's Managed SSH Key (also coming in v2.10.4) - tick Use for this modem under Managed SSH Key in a GL-iNet or MikroTik router's form (Settings - Monitoring - Cellular Modem (5G/LTE)), and install the public key on the router.
Firmware Rollout
- Fix: an offline device failed as Device Stuck Offline After Upgrade and dropped the rest of its model (also coming in v2.10.4, thanks @suburbazine). A device still offline at its turn is skipped now, and each model's canary is a device that's online.
- Fix: a mesh access point that changed uplinks during the rollout failed its upgrade (also coming in v2.10.4, thanks @suburbazine).
- Fix: a model could upgrade without its canary passing (also coming in v2.10.4) - a second color of a model whose canary failed, or every device of a model whose canary was skipped.
Threat Intelligence
- Fix: ICMP traffic showed as port 0 (also coming in v2.10.4) in an IP's Destinations Accessed and Sources Targeting This IP. Port Ranges and Services name the protocol now, and so do GRE and other protocols without ports.
Fixes
:previewpulled v2.10.3 instead of preview6 if you pulled after v2.10.3 shipped. A v2.10.x patch no longer moves:previewwhile a v2.11.0 preview is out.
Installation
Preview builds use a rolling :preview tag that always gets the latest features and fixes. Set it once and future builds arrive on pull.
Docker (assuming you've installed already through the normal procedures listed in v2.10.3 or other releases):
image: ghcr.io/ozark-connect/network-optimizer:preview
image: ghcr.io/ozark-connect/speedtest:previewdocker compose pull && docker compose up -dWindows: download the MSI installer below
macOS (native, recommended for accurate speed tests vs Docker Desktop). Same command for every preview build. The branch is rebuilt when a release ships, so the reset is what keeps a later update from stopping on a diverged branch - it discards local changes to the checkout:
cd NetworkOptimizer && git fetch origin && git checkout release/2.11 && git reset --hard origin/release/2.11 && ./scripts/install-macos-native.shProxmox (assuming you've already installed via the LXC script listed in v2.10.3 or other releases):
pct exec <CT_ID> -- bash -c 'cd /opt/network-optimizer && sed -i -e "s#network-optimizer:latest#network-optimizer:preview#" -e "s#speedtest:latest#speedtest:preview#" docker-compose.yml && docker compose pull && docker compose up -d && docker image prune -a -f'For other platforms (Synology, QNAP, Unraid, native Linux) or new installations, see the Deployment Guide.
