github Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer v2.11.0-preview6

latest release: v2.10.3
pre-release2 hours ago

On-Site Agent update (optional, the v2.11.0-preview6 Agent): if you'll apply Change Control plans on a site behind an On-Site Agent, or the agent sits behind a reverse proxy that closes its connection, upgrade it so that it can automatically roll back a change that inadvertently cuts the site off from Network Optimizer, and reconnect within seconds: open Settings - Multi-Site, expand your site, and press Run It for Me under the upgrade command. If you updated on an earlier preview, this one only adds the faster reconnect (and the IPv4 fallback, if you updated on preview1 or preview2).

Sixth preview of v2.11.0. See the v2.11.0-preview1 notes for all of the details on Change Control, and the v2.11.0-preview5 notes for what came before this one.

This build mostly carries the v2.10.3 fixes forward: On-Site Agents behind a reverse proxy and sites with two Agents, fewer false partial outage alerts, MikroTik cellular and Richerlink ONT support, and incidents that list their alerts. Change Control - Edit also gains a Collection YAML download, and an upload that would delete objects now says so first.

Change Control

  • Collection YAML on Edit downloads the open collection with your edits (secrets masked) to edit and upload back. An upload that leaves objects out of a collection warns in Problems that they will be deleted.
  • Fix: AP Agent data stopped after Re-address Networks (also in v2.10.3) - an access point whose IP address changed without a reboot left its AP Agent unreachable, so Client Performance, Live View, and the Wi-Fi Optimizer lost its data.
  • Also fixed: on Snapshots + Templates, a long trigger pushed a snapshot's actions out of line.

Multi-Site

  • Fix: the UniFi Console sat "awaiting the agent" after a reverse proxy dropped the On-Site Agent's connection (also in v2.10.3) - the faster reconnect needs this preview's Agent.
  • Fix: a site with two On-Site Agents lost its UniFi Console when one Agent went dark (also in v2.10.3), even with the other one healthy.

Monitoring

Network Performance

  • Multi-WAN Monitoring - Vantages follow your gateway's Agent (also in v2.10.3) - a vantage whose Agent is removed, or offline for 15 minutes, moves to the gateway's Agent on that WAN, and goes back when its Agent returns.
  • Fix: Upstream Path Discovery marked transit hops "Different route" on a Docker On-Site Agent (also in v2.10.3). Pull the new Agent image too.

ISP Health

  • ISP Network score on regional ISPs (also in v2.10.3) - a hop past where your ISP hands off to transit no longer costs the full distance penalty.

Cellular Stats

  • MikroTik LTE routers on RouterOS 7 support (also in v2.10.3, #1271, thanks @kongkr-code for the output).

ONT Stats

  • Richerlink RL821GWV-D (Airtel India FTTH) support (also in v2.10.3, thanks Srinivas for the traces and his bridge script), not yet run against a live ONT.

Alerts & Schedule

  • Fix: a Partial internet outage alert when a few endpoints of one provider went dark (also in v2.10.3). A small, scattered partial outage now has to last a few minutes before it alerts.
  • Incidents list their alerts (also in v2.10.3) - an open alert opens on Active Alerts, ringed, and a resolved one shows its message in place; the Dashboard's Active Alerts card opens a clicked alert the same way, and links in alert messages are clickable.

Performance Tweaks

  • UniFi OS 6.0.16 EA on the UCG line (also in v2.10.3) - supported, verified against the UCG-Fiber 6.0.16 firmware image.

Installation

Preview builds use a rolling :preview tag. Set it once and future builds - previews and releases - arrive on pull. You no longer need to switch back to :latest when a release ships: :preview gets every release too, so you're always on the newest build.

Docker (assuming you've installed already through the normal procedures listed in v2.10.2 or other releases):

image: ghcr.io/ozark-connect/network-optimizer:preview
image: ghcr.io/ozark-connect/speedtest:preview
docker compose pull && docker compose up -d

Windows: download the MSI installer below

macOS (native, recommended for accurate speed tests vs Docker Desktop). Same command for every preview build. The branch is rebuilt when a release ships, so the reset is what keeps a later update from stopping on a diverged branch - it discards local changes to the checkout:

cd NetworkOptimizer && git fetch origin && git checkout release/2.11 && git reset --hard origin/release/2.11 && ./scripts/install-macos-native.sh

Proxmox (assuming you've already installed via the LXC script listed in v2.10.2 or other releases):

pct exec <CT_ID> -- bash -c 'cd /opt/network-optimizer && sed -i -e "s#network-optimizer:latest#network-optimizer:preview#" -e "s#speedtest:latest#speedtest:preview#" docker-compose.yml && docker compose pull && docker compose up -d && docker image prune -a -f'

For other platforms (Synology, QNAP, Unraid, native Linux) or new installations, see the Deployment Guide.
