github Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer v2.11.0-preview2

latest release: v2.10.2
pre-release2 hours ago

Change Control is experimental at this point. Make a separate UniFi Network backup before you use any of its features. If anything comes up during a migration, a config change, a roll back, or anything else, please report it in a GitHub issue.

On-Site Agent update (optional, the v2.11.0-preview1 Agent, unchanged in preview2): if you'll apply Change Control plans on a site behind an On-Site Agent, upgrade the agent so that it can automatically roll back a change that inadvertently cuts the site off from Network Optimizer: open Settings - Multi-Site, expand your site, and press Run It for Me under the upgrade command. If you updated on preview1, you're set.

Second preview of v2.11.0. See the v2.11.0-preview1 notes for all of the details on Change Control.

Wi-Fi metrics on UniFi Network 11, three more cable modems, and the Wi-Fi lanes on the Change Control timeline read correctly when a site has no clients.

Change Control - Changes

  • Fix: the Clients lane skipped hours with no Wi-Fi clients - it drew a line straight across them, and a 7-day range that opened with none was blank on the left. Those hours plot as zero now, and the Wi-Fi PHY lane breaks where a band had no clients.
  • Also fixed: a change under two hours old said "No incidents in the 2 hours after"; it now says it's still watching, and until when.

Wi-Fi Optimizer

  • Fix: no Wi-Fi metrics on UniFi Network 11 - Metrics, Environment, Client Performance's signal history from UniFi Network, and the history Channel Recommendation learns from were empty. Network 11 serves about the last month of this history.
  • Metrics charts now use the same hover as Monitoring.

Monitoring - Cable Modem Stats

  • FRITZ!Box 6690 Cable support (#1299, thanks @gmdfalk).
  • ARRIS SURFboard SB6141 support (thanks Conlan for the HAR).
  • Xfinity XB7 (CGM4331) support (thanks @papisosa for the HAR), and port 443 now connects to the Xfinity, Comcast Business, and Cox gateways over HTTPS.

Installation

Preview builds use a rolling :preview tag. Set it once and future builds - previews and releases - arrive on pull. You no longer need to switch back to :latest when a release ships: :preview gets every release too, so you're always on the newest build.

Docker (assuming you've installed already through the normal procedures listed in v2.10.2 or other releases):

image: ghcr.io/ozark-connect/network-optimizer:preview
image: ghcr.io/ozark-connect/speedtest:preview
docker compose pull && docker compose up -d

Windows: download the MSI installer below

macOS (native, recommended for accurate speed tests vs Docker Desktop). Same command for every preview build. The branch is rebuilt when a release ships, so the reset is what keeps a later update from stopping on a diverged branch - it discards local changes to the checkout:

cd NetworkOptimizer && git fetch origin && git checkout release/2.11 && git reset --hard origin/release/2.11 && ./scripts/install-macos-native.sh

Proxmox (assuming you've already installed via the LXC script listed in v2.10.2 or other releases):

pct exec <CT_ID> -- bash -c 'cd /opt/network-optimizer && sed -i -e "s#network-optimizer:latest#network-optimizer:preview#" -e "s#speedtest:latest#speedtest:preview#" docker-compose.yml && docker compose pull && docker compose up -d && docker image prune -a -f'

For other platforms (Synology, QNAP, Unraid, native Linux) or new installations, see the Deployment Guide.
