On-Site Agent update (optional, the v2.11.0-preview11 Agent, unchanged in preview12 and preview13): upgrade it so that Path Localization's traces from an On-Site Agent use 5 probes per hop (an older Agent still traces, at 3): open Settings - Multi-Site, expand your site, and press Run It for Me under the upgrade command. If you haven't updated since before preview6, this one also lets the agent automatically roll back a Change Control change that inadvertently cuts the site off from Network Optimizer, and reconnect within seconds behind a reverse proxy that closes its connection.
Thirteenth preview of v2.11.0. See the v2.11.0-preview1 notes for all of the details on Change Control, and the v2.11.0-preview12 notes for what came before this one.
Change Control's editor marks your edits and can forget a client, and its safety checks and Restore get fixes. Plus the v2.10.6 work so far: a Console Access check in Security Audit and a Client Speed Test fix.
Change Control
Edit
- Edited lines are marked in the gutter and along the scrollbar, and the N edited badge steps through them.
- Removing a client forgets it in UniFi Network, and so does a Roll Back or Return to Baseline to before it had a name, note, or fixed IP. Restore never forgets a client.
- Fix: Back from Review Plan lost every edit in the editor.
- Also fixed: Tab below a Read-only object pulled the line into it, with no Shift+Tab to undo it.
Review Plan
- Type the site's name to confirm a lockout, once per plan, instead of every device's name.
- A firewall change that cuts a network off the internet needs acknowledging, since the commit-confirmed watch can't catch it.
- Fix: "Commit-confirmed: 5 minutes" with only non-WAN items ticked - an unrelated internet blip could revert the apply.
- Also fixed: a false "Firewall: Ineffective Allow Rule" regression when a plan added a policy next to an allow, such as Threat Intelligence's exceptions; "Partial: Not applied by UniFi: Dev ID Override, Fingerprint Override" when a plan set a client's device type; networks set to Auto in UniFi Network turning Manual after a plan that wrote a firewall zone (Set Up Zones, Roll Back, Return to Baseline); and "Network X: Setting Preference did not land" after a Roll Back recreated a network.
Migrate / Restore
- Fix: Re-address Networks reverted itself while network devices moved to their new management network addresses. It alerts instead now, as it already did for the UniFi Console's own network.
- Fix: "api.err.NetworkCantBeRemovedFromDefaultZone" when a Restore or Return to Baseline ran on a site with a network added since the snapshot.
Changes
- Also fixed: "No incidents in the 2 hours after" above a listed WAN incident; a change made in UniFi Network minutes after a Network Optimizer apply could go unrecorded; and a plan's policy delete or client edit was credited to "Network Optimizer", not the plan.
Overview
- Also fixed: a deleted network kept a DNS: Inconsistent Configuration regression in Needs Attention.
Security Audit
- Console Access (also coming in v2.10.6, #1342) - flags API Keys and Local Admin accounts unused for 7+ days, Critical after 30. It runs only when your UniFi Console Connection can read them.
Client Speed Test
- Fix: a false New High Score after a device's IP address changed (also coming in v2.10.6).
Installation
Preview builds use a rolling :preview tag that always gets the latest features and fixes. Set it once and future builds arrive on pull.
Docker (assuming you've installed already through the normal procedures listed in v2.10.5 or other releases):
image: ghcr.io/ozark-connect/network-optimizer:preview
image: ghcr.io/ozark-connect/speedtest:previewdocker compose pull && docker compose up -dWindows: download the MSI installer below
macOS (native, recommended for accurate speed tests vs Docker Desktop). Same command for every preview build. The branch is rebuilt when a release ships, so the reset is what keeps a later update from stopping on a diverged branch - it discards local changes to the checkout:
cd NetworkOptimizer && git fetch origin && git checkout release/2.11 && git reset --hard origin/release/2.11 && ./scripts/install-macos-native.shProxmox (assuming you've already installed via the LXC script listed in v2.10.5 or other releases):
pct exec <CT_ID> -- bash -c 'cd /opt/network-optimizer && sed -i -e "s#network-optimizer:latest#network-optimizer:preview#" -e "s#speedtest:latest#speedtest:preview#" docker-compose.yml && docker compose pull && docker compose up -d && docker image prune -a -f'For other platforms (Synology, QNAP, Unraid, native Linux) or new installations, see the Deployment Guide.
