On-Site Agent update (optional): the v2.10.0-preview1 Agent, unchanged in preview2. If your On-Site Agent collects SNMP and you skipped preview1, upgrade it so a port's link speed keeps up when it renegotiates: open Settings - Multi-Site, expand your site, and press Run It for Me under the upgrade command. If you updated on v2.10.0-preview1, you're set.
Second preview of v2.10.0. See the v2.10.0-preview1 notes for what came before.
Fixes from preview1 feedback for Automatic Blocking and Cloudflare Edge Blocking, and Realtek ONT sticks on SFP Stats.
Threat Intelligence
- Fix: Turn On Recommended for All Sites looked stuck - in Settings - Multi-Site the banner stayed up after it had worked, with "Enforcing on 2 sites." under the button. It now goes away once every site you administer is Blocking (#1272, thanks @KittyFarts for the report).
- Fix: no Automatic Blocking for the main site in Settings - Multi-Site - its Configuration panel now has the same Automatic Blocking section as your other sites.
- Also fixed: a site's count of blocked sources in Settings - Multi-Site left out blocks shared from your other sites and public list entries; Check under Gateway said to connect a UniFi Console that was only reconnecting; and Cloudflare Edge Blocking kept warning that no rule used the list after you had added one (Cloudflare does not report custom rules there, so the rule steps are now an Add the rule to each domain guide, which opens after Set Up Cloudflare).
Monitoring
SFP Stats
- Attach a Realtek ONT stick to its SFP module - Settings - ONT Device Monitoring offers Attach to SFP Module for Realtek ONT Stick (HTTP), merging the stick's PON state, ONU ID, registration, and OLT into its module's card (#1274, thanks @gpborges).
- Both temperatures - an attached ONT with its own sensor shows SFP Temp and ONT Temp, and SFP Alert Thresholds picks which one the PON temperature alert checks.
- Refresh works for SFP ONTs - on the Dashboard's ONT Stats card it reads the module and its attached ONT right away, and an attached one gets ONT Settings next to SFP Monitoring (thanks @gpborges for the layout).
ONT Stats
- Fix: Realtek ONT sticks never showed their PON status - no PON Status row, an orange dot on a healthy stick, and no ONT: PON Link Down (#1273, thanks @gpborges).
- Uptime and firmware from Realtek sticks - read from the stick's
admin/status.asp: ONT Uptime fills in and a new Firmware column shows the version. - Registered and OLT in the PON Status table (OLT vendor decoded) and on the Dashboard card. On Realtek sticks they need the DFP-34X-2IY3 SFU firmware.
- Network Optimizer Custom (HTTP JSON) - optional
olt_vendor_idandsfp_fw_versionfields fill the same OLT and Firmware columns, andolt_modelandolt_versionadd the OLT model ("Calix E7 (CALX)") and an OLT Version column.
Alerts & Schedule
- ONT: Management Unresponsive - an attached ONT's page stops answering while its SFP module still reads light. On once an ONT is attached.
- ONT: Rebooted - an ONT's uptime went backwards. Off by default; Realtek sticks and Network Optimizer Custom report uptime.
Multi-Site
- Fix: Run It for Me popped in late - the space under the gateway command now shows a spinner while Network Optimizer checks it can reach the gateway over SSH, then the button or nothing.
Installation
Preview builds use a rolling :preview tag. Set it once and future builds - previews and releases - arrive on pull. You no longer need to switch back to :latest when a release ships: :preview gets every release too, so you're always on the newest build.
Docker (assuming you've installed already through the normal procedures listed in v2.9.3 or other releases):
image: ghcr.io/ozark-connect/network-optimizer:preview
image: ghcr.io/ozark-connect/speedtest:previewdocker compose pull && docker compose up -dWindows: download the MSI installer below
macOS (native, recommended for accurate speed tests vs Docker Desktop). Same command for every preview build. release/2.10 is rebuilt when a release ships, so the reset is what keeps a later update from stopping on a diverged branch - it discards local changes to the checkout:
cd NetworkOptimizer && git fetch origin && git checkout release/2.10 && git reset --hard origin/release/2.10 && ./scripts/install-macos-native.shProxmox (assuming you've already installed via the LXC script listed in v2.9.3 or other releases):
pct exec <CT_ID> -- bash -c 'cd /opt/network-optimizer && sed -i -e "s#network-optimizer:latest#network-optimizer:preview#" -e "s#speedtest:latest#speedtest:preview#" docker-compose.yml && docker compose pull && docker compose up -d && docker image prune -a -f'For other platforms (Synology, QNAP, Unraid, native Linux) or new installations, see the Deployment Guide.
