github Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer v2.0.2

7 hours ago

More fixes and a couple of nice additions, mostly around Monitoring's Upstream path discovery. See v2.0.0 release notes for what's new in v2.0.

Client Performance

  • Simplified view for VPN clients - Tailscale, UniFi Teleport, and UniFi One-Click / S2S VPN clients now get their own dashboard: name, IP, both speed-test buttons, live results, speed map, and path traces.
  • Clearer "device not found" copy - distinguishes "console unreachable" from "console fine, device just isn't listed yet," and shows the detected address.

Monitoring

  • Right access ISP on silent first miles - some fiber/PPPoE first miles don't announce themselves, which let Upstream path discovery crown the wrong provider (in one case a DNS resolver's edge). It now anchors on your gateway's WAN address, and those first-mile hops become monitorable targets.
  • "Did you switch internet providers?" - when your access ISP actually changed, Upstream path discovery asks; confirm and it pauses the old targets and adopts the new path in one save.
  • Off-path transit networks get cleaned up - when your ISP re-routes, targets for a transit network you no longer use are surfaced for pausing instead of dragging down ISP Health. Nothing is deleted.
  • First-mile device picks the real WAN gateway - on a shared WAN segment it no longer reads the device from an unrelated same-subnet neighbor.
  • Flaky monitoring targets advisory clears on recovery - a flagged target drops off once its monitoring is clean again (about half an hour for a target that was fully down) instead of nagging for up to two days.
  • Flaky monitoring targets advisory on ISP Health - the advisory now also appears on the ISP Health tab where the score lives, not just Live View.

LAN Speed Test

  • Speed map auto-fit - a new result or a time-range change brings the visible results back into view, unless you've manually panned or zoomed. Applies to the Client Performance speed map too.

Multi-Site

  • Current site opens its dashboard - clicking the site you're already on now opens it instead of doing nothing. Ctrl/cmd/shift/middle-click still opens a new tab.
  • Cold managed-site connection - shows the device picker right away and auto-loads once the on-site agent's tunnel comes up, instead of stranding you until a manual refresh.
  • Cleaner logs on agent sites - ONT, cable modem, and cellular modem poll logs name the configured device host instead of the internal tunnel loopback; agent version labels drop the +build suffix.

Fixes

  • Break out of a wedged reconnect spinner - if "Reconnecting..." gets stuck and never clears, the app now probes the server and reloads once it answers.
  • Settings polish - darker row hover so rows read differently from buttons, dark chrome on native form controls, and the site-name field focuses when you click edit.

Installation

Windows: Download the MSI installer below

Docker:

docker compose pull && docker compose up -d

macOS (native, recommended for accurate speed tests vs Docker Desktop):

git clone https://github.com/Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer.git && cd NetworkOptimizer && ./scripts/install-macos-native.sh
# or if you already have it cloned
cd NetworkOptimizer && git pull && ./scripts/install-macos-native.sh

Proxmox:

bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer/main/scripts/proxmox/install.sh)"
# or if you just need to update
pct exec <CT_ID> -- bash -c "cd /opt/network-optimizer && docker compose pull && docker compose up -d"

For other platforms (Synology, QNAP, Unraid, native Linux), see the Deployment Guide.
