Internet outage detection lands in ISP Health, and the LAN map now plays back what your network was actually doing - live and across the timeline. See the v1.21.0 release notes for what's new in v1.21.0.

Monitoring

ISP Health

  • Internet outage detection - ISP Health now spots internet-unreachable outages and tells them apart from monitoring gaps: it only counts an outage when your internet targets all go dark while the Monitoring Agent keeps probing (if the gateway itself drops there are no samples, so that's a gap, not an outage). It pins where the break sat - your access OLT can stay reachable while everything upstream goes dark, which means an ISP-side fault, not your network - scores it by how long you were actually down, and draws a recovery-shape timeline. A brief blip barely moves your score; a multi-hour outage tanks it. Outage windows are kept out of the regular packet-loss grades so they don't double-count.
  • Speed hero links to WAN Speed Tests - The "Speed vs Plan" section now links to the WAN Speed Tests page, with a subtle hover highlight.
  • Truer path-shift reporting - Path RTT reverts now show their real magnitude instead of "0 ms", and a correlated path shift is labeled from the transit network it happened in rather than a CDN endpoint that just routes through it.
  • Cleaner transit names - Hand-added transit hops now get the same household-name cleanup as auto-discovered ones (e.g. "Level 3", not "Level 3 Parent"), and a few providers show their familiar names (Arelion, Sparkle, and "Zayo" instead of "Zayo Bandwidth").

LAN Map

  • Live and historic playback - The 2D and 3D LAN maps now reflect what the network was actually doing instead of freezing the current snapshot. Device online/offline state plays back correctly through the timeline and updates live; offline devices dim and drop to zero throughput instead of holding their last sample.
  • Wi-Fi client stats over time - Band, signal, and PHY link rate play back at the scrubbed instant rather than always showing current values.
  • Wi-Fi roam tracking - A client now shows up on the AP it was actually connected to, live and during playback. A seamless roam (no disconnect) used to never move the client on the map until a disconnect or page refresh.
  • Map polish - 3D throughput labels and client pipes respect the band/overlay/name filter (no orphaned pipes after a redraw); the 2D map fits tighter to the top with label-aware spacing.

Security Audit

  • Power devices no longer flagged for tagged VLANs - UPS, PDU, and RPS devices were getting a "Port Issue: Excessive Tagged VLANs" finding on their single internal management port, which isn't a real downstream port and can't be reconfigured. They're now skipped (the upstream switch port they plug into is still audited), which also clears an inconsistency where UPS-2U was skipped but USP-PDU-Pro wasn't.
  • Technitium DNS - Recognized as a DNS provider, with a 1-second per-port probe timeout so detection doesn't hang.

Device Support

  • EF-Core, UNVR-G2, UNVR-G2-Pro - Three newly shipped UniFi devices now resolve with friendly names and icons: the Enterprise Firewall Core gateway and the Gen 2 / Gen 2 Pro Network Video Recorders. EF-Core is correctly treated as a gateway, not an AP, even when the API reports phantom radios.

Performance Tweaks

  • Firmware support extended to UniFi OS 5.1.19 - All performance tweaks and patches, including SGMII+ 2.5 Gbps support, were vetted on a UCG-Fiber and by two community members on the new firmware.

Fixes

  • Database concurrency errors - Fixed recurring "second operation started on this context" / disposed-context errors that filled the logs over time. The threat dashboard now uses its own isolated database context per operation.
  • Alerts: jump to the form - Adding an alert rule now scrolls to the Add Rule form once it renders, so it doesn't open off-screen.
