ISP Health gets a lot sharper this release: it now grades every hop on your ISP's path and can tell a genuinely congested router from one that just deprioritizes ping. Plus new alerts for your gateway, modem, ONT, and cellular WAN. See the v1.20.0 release notes for the bigger picture since v1.20.0.

ISP Health

  • Every ISP hop is graded - The ISP Network score now reflects packet loss and congestion on every hop in your provider's path, not just the nearest one. The closest hop still sets your idle-latency baseline.
  • Honest jitter, even across split paths - When a clean upstream (a transit provider, a deeper ISP router, or a destination reached through a hop) proves the path is actually steady, ISP Health stops penalizing a router whose high "jitter" is really just ICMP deprioritization. It only does this when it can prove traffic truly flows through that router, so a clean detour can't hide a genuinely congested hop. Sub-0.05 ms differences are treated as noise.
  • Clearer cards - Each provider card shows the effective jitter with an info icon explaining when a reading was absorbed and why, the RTT range across hops, and transit RTT as a winsorized mean so one bad probe doesn't skew it. Packet-loss expectations now scale with how loaded your WAN is.
  • A nudge to re-map your path - If ISP Health doesn't have your hop layout yet, a banner points you to re-run Upstream Discovery, and it clears itself once you do.
  • Lighter on InfluxDB - Watching Live View no longer kicks off a heavy ISP Health recompute every few minutes. The query runs far less often now, cutting periodic database CPU spikes. Same scores, computed more sparingly.

Monitoring - Alerts

  • New modem / ONT alerts - You can now get alerts on your gateway, cable modem, ONT, and cellular WAN, alongside the existing ones.

Fixes / Improvements

  • Clearer IFB error - When a device is missing its IFB interface, the message now explains the QoS-rule workaround instead of leaving you guessing.
  • Footer version links to release notes - Click the version in the footer to jump to that release's notes.
