github Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer v1.18.0

2 hours ago

Significant update for cellular 5G / LTE modem monitoring and live WAN visibility.

What's New

  • Live WAN chart - Real-time download, upload, packet loss, and mean ISP/transit RTT on the Dashboard and Monitoring Live View. Pre-loads 5 min history, then polls every 3 seconds. Follows the map timeline scrubber during historic playback.
  • Cellular monitoring overhaul - Multi-provider architecture for cellular modem polling, with support for Ubiquiti, Netgear Nighthawk, and GL-iNet/Quectel modems. Signal metrics charted over time via InfluxDB.
  • U5G-Backup support - Full product database entries for the new UniFi U5G Backup modem (US and EU variants).

Monitoring Live View

  • Map swap buttons - Swap 3D and 2D map display order, persisted to settings.
  • Map mode: Off - The 2D/3D toggle now cycles 2D, 3D, Off to hide the map entirely.
  • Add to Dashboard - Button on Monitoring Live tab when Live View isn't on the dashboard.

Cellular Monitoring

  • Netgear Nighthawk hotspot support - New HTTP provider for M-series hotspots (thanks @jedis00 for PR #661).
  • GL-iNet / Quectel modem support - SSH provider for third-party cellular routers using AT+QENG commands with per-modem credentials. Closes #158, reported by @kwschnei.
  • uiwwand polling - All UniFi modems now poll via the uiwwand ubus daemon first, falling back to raw qmicli. Faster startup recovery after modem reboot. Closes #635, reported by @jimstrang.
  • Cellular Stats monitoring tab - RSRP, RSRQ, SNR, and Signal Quality time-series charts with per-band per-device series, filter badges, and time range controls.
  • InfluxDB time series - Signal metrics written to the longterm bucket with separate data points for LTE and NR5G in NSA dual-connectivity mode.

Installation

Windows: Download the MSI installer below

Docker:

docker compose pull && docker compose up -d

macOS (native, recommended for accurate speed tests vs Docker Desktop):

git clone https://github.com/Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer.git && cd NetworkOptimizer && ./scripts/install-macos-native.sh
# or if you already have it cloned
cd NetworkOptimizer && git pull && ./scripts/install-macos-native.sh

Proxmox:

bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer/main/scripts/proxmox/install.sh)"

For other platforms (Synology, QNAP, Unraid, native Linux), see the Deployment Guide.
