github Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer v1.17.2

More monitoring upgrades. See v1.17.0 release notes for what's new in v1.17.0+

Monitoring

  • Tabbed navigation - Monitoring is now organized into five tabs: Live View, Network Performance, Device Stats, SFP Stats, and Setup. Each tab mounts/unmounts its charts independently so switching is fast and resource-friendly.
  • Live View stat cards - Real-time summary cards showing WAN download/upload (from SNMP), gateway RTT and packet loss, ISP and transit mean latency, gateway CPU/memory/temperature, and total fabric ingress/egress throughput.
  • Statistics table - Per-target mean, min, max, P95, and P99 for RTT plus mean and max for loss, rendered below the latency charts. Updates with the selected time range and badge filters.
  • WAN throughput chart - When viewing ISP, Transit, or Internet latency, a third chart shows summed WAN interface throughput over the same time window so you can correlate latency spikes with traffic patterns.
  • Packet loss investigation - A "Packet Loss Events" button finds the most recent 1-minute-averaged loss event across all WAN targets and navigates the chart to it. Back/forward arrows step through events chronologically.
  • SFP threshold alerts - New alert events for PON RX power below -25 dBm, TX power above 4 dBm, and temperature above 75 C (87 C for non-PON). Default rules auto-created on startup. Hysteresis prevents flapping.
  • SFP anomaly investigation - Similar to packet loss, finds the most recent SFP temperature or signal anomaly and jumps the chart to it.

Setup & UX

  • InfluxDB recovery flow - When the InfluxDB connection fails (expired token, unreachable), the Setup tab now shows "Update Token" (links to Settings) and "Re-run Setup" (re-provisions inline) buttons instead of requiring manual navigation.
  • Wizard improvements - The status card updates immediately when provisioning succeeds; Continue just collapses the wizard panel. Token field unlocks the provision button on input, not blur. Password managers no longer autofill the token field.
  • Tab availability after restart - Tabs are available immediately based on persisted config, no waiting for health checks to complete. Setup tab auto-selects when there's a known error.

Other

  • Event catalog - The Alerts Event Type Patterns dialog now lists all monitoring events (target offline/recovered/sustained loss, SFP thresholds) and WAN data usage events.
  • Component extraction - Latency Targets and SFP Modules cards extracted into standalone Razor components.
  • Chart cleanup - Removed fullscreen coupling from chart JS modules (tabs handle lifecycle). Category switching preserves the selected time window. Popover inputs stay in sync on preset changes.
  • Upstream tracer - Renamed "Access hop" to "ISP hop" for clarity.

Installation

Windows: Download the MSI installer below

Docker:

docker compose pull && docker compose up -d

macOS (native, recommended for accurate speed tests vs Docker Desktop):

git clone https://github.com/Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer.git && cd NetworkOptimizer && ./scripts/install-macos-native.sh
# or if you already have it cloned
cd NetworkOptimizer && git pull && ./scripts/install-macos-native.sh

Proxmox:

bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer/main/scripts/proxmox/install.sh)"

For other platforms (Synology, QNAP, Unraid, native Linux), see the Deployment Guide.
