github Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer v1.17.14

latest release: v1.17.15
22 hours ago

Monitoring improvements and chart polish. See v1.17.0 release notes for what's new in v1.17.0+

Self-Hosted Network Monitoring

  • L2 neighbor as first-mile target - Upstream discovery now proposes the gateway's directly connected L2 neighbor (OLT on GPON, CMTS on DOCSIS, BNG on PPPoE) as a monitoring target. Useful on GPON where the OLT is L2-transparent and invisible to traceroute but still responds to ICMP. Reachability check auto-disables it if it doesn't respond.
  • ISP RTT shows nearest hop - The ISP RTT stat card and globe label now pick the lowest latency across all access hop targets instead of the deepest one, giving a better read on first-mile health.
  • Link rate gap fix - Fixed intermittent zero-rate gaps on live map links caused by SNMP counter refresh lag vs poll cadence. Rates no longer show a sawtooth pattern.
  • SNMP health fallback - Devices where SNMP is configured but doesn't return health OIDs (e.g. USW-Flex-XG) now get CPU/memory from the UniFi API instead of silently dropping the data.
  • WAN link labels at lower threshold - WAN/transit flow labels now appear at 500 Kbps instead of 1 Mbps on both 2D and 3D maps.

Charts

  • 33-color chart palette - New chart palette (Observable 10 + Tableau + D3 Paired) replaces the old 6-color rotation. All color pairs are perceptually distinct, and devices keep the same color across tabs and restarts.
  • Ctrl+Click filter badges - Hold Ctrl (Cmd on Mac) when clicking a chart filter badge to toggle that single series. Normal click still does solo/show-all. Applied across Latency, Device Stats, SFP, WAN Speed Test, and Threat Dashboard.

Installation

Windows: Download the MSI installer below

Docker:

docker compose pull && docker compose up -d

macOS (native, recommended for accurate speed tests vs Docker Desktop):

git clone https://github.com/Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer.git && cd NetworkOptimizer && ./scripts/install-macos-native.sh
# or if you already have it cloned
cd NetworkOptimizer && git pull && ./scripts/install-macos-native.sh

Proxmox:

bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer/main/scripts/proxmox/install.sh)"

For other platforms (Synology, QNAP, Unraid, native Linux), see the Deployment Guide.
