github Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer v1.17.11

latest release: v1.17.12
4 hours ago

More monitoring improvements and a new topology view. See v1.17.0 release notes for what's new in v1.17.0+

Self-Hosted Network Monitoring

  • 2D LAN Topology Flow Map - A new interactive hierarchical map on the Live View tab showing your full network topology with live throughput rates, device health, and client connections. Pan, zoom, and hover for details.
  • Device health for non-SNMP devices - Devices without SNMP (Flex Mini, devices with SNMP toggled off) now show CPU, memory, and temperature on Device Health charts, sourced from the UniFi API.
  • Switch temperature monitoring - Switch temps now appear on the temperature chart. SNMP doesn't report switch temps, so these come from the UniFi API automatically.
  • Wired client throughput - Wired clients behind non-SNMP switches now show live throughput on the 2D map, with InfluxDB storage for historic playback.

WiFi Optimizer

  • Gateway-only console fix - UDM-Beast, UDM-Pro, UDM-SE, and EFG were sometimes misclassified as access points when connected through a WAN Switch. These rack-mount consoles now always stay classified as gateways.

Fixes

  • API call optimization - Reduced redundant UniFi API device calls from ~7/min to ~2/min with a response cache. Network-only fetches save over 500 KB per call by skipping unnecessary device and client data.
  • Container startup hang - Stale migration locks from interrupted startups are now cleared automatically, preventing the container from hanging on restart.
  • 3D map stability - Guard against NaN geometry when device placement data contains invalid coordinates.
  • Docker healthcheck - Start period increased from 40s to 120s to accommodate larger databases during migration.

Installation

Windows: Download the MSI installer below

Docker:

docker compose pull && docker compose up -d

macOS (native, recommended for accurate speed tests vs Docker Desktop):

git clone https://github.com/Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer.git && cd NetworkOptimizer && ./scripts/install-macos-native.sh
# or if you already have it cloned
cd NetworkOptimizer && git pull && ./scripts/install-macos-native.sh

Proxmox:

bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer/main/scripts/proxmox/install.sh)"

For other platforms (Synology, QNAP, Unraid, native Linux), see the Deployment Guide.
