github Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer v1.15.9

More Adaptive SQM and WAN Steering fixes. See v1.15.0 release notes for what's new in v1.15.0+

Adaptive SQM

  • WAN link speed override - You can now override the auto-detected WAN port speed in the SQM config. Useful when your SFP supports a higher speed than the gateway reports (e.g., a 2.5 G SFP showing as 1 G). The override is used as the shaping ceiling.
  • Tighter speedtest probe rate - The probe rate during speed tests is now 3% above your max shaping rate instead of 5% above line rate, so TC stays transparent without overshooting your actual link speed.
  • Dynamic burst sizing restored - HTB burst now scales with your shaping rate again (1500-5000 bytes), eliminating drop_overmemory events at higher speeds.

WAN Steering

  • VLAN-tagged and GRE interfaces now discovered - WAN Steering wasn't picking up firewall marks for VLAN-tagged WANs (like eth4.100) or GRE tunnels from LTE/5G modems. These WANs showed up in the UI but couldn't actually steer traffic.

Installation

Windows: Download the MSI installer below

Docker:

docker compose pull && docker compose up -d

macOS (native, recommended for accurate speed tests vs Docker Desktop):

git clone https://github.com/Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer.git && cd NetworkOptimizer && ./scripts/install-macos-native.sh
# or if you already have it cloned
cd NetworkOptimizer && git pull && ./scripts/install-macos-native.sh

Proxmox:

bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Ozark-Connect/NetworkOptimizer/main/scripts/proxmox/install.sh)"

For other platforms (Synology, QNAP, Unraid, native Linux), see the Deployment Guide.
