Skippable cutscenes, save states, a tracker, speedrun and graphics options,
memory card transfer, mods and Discord presence, plus an Archipelago fix that
lets the port connect to real servers. Linux, Windows and Android, all built
from one commit (c67bad70).
You need your own disc image. Metroid Prime (USA) v1.00, GM8E01 disc 0
revision 0. Nothing here contains any part of the game — no disc, no assets.
What changed
New
- Skippable cutscenes (F1 > Extras, or pause Options > Visor). Start skips
the cutscenes the console release makes you sit through. Always on in
randomizer and Archipelago games, where the Landing Site intro is also
skipped. - Save states. Eight slots plus an undo slot, in F1 > States or with F5
(save) and F9 (load). - Tracker and map reveal. F1 > Tracker lists items, scans and rooms visited
per world, with the names of the rooms you haven't been to. "Reveal map" shows
the whole map as if you had used every map station, without touching the save. - Speedrun timer. An on-screen in-game timer, and a client for LiveSplit's
Server component that starts on a new file, splits on upgrades (optional) and
does the final split at the credits. - Graphics. First-person FOV slider (45-90, retail 55), MSAA (off or 4x),
anisotropic filtering, HUD scale, and options to hide the helmet and the visor
effects. - Input. Toggle Lock-On, Sticky Charge, and a crosshair size for mouse aim
and twin stick. All off or at retail by default. - Unlocks. Hard mode, the Fusion Suit and the image galleries, without
beating the game (F1 > Extras). - Memory card transfer. Import and export
.gcifiles or raw card images,
including straight from and to Dolphin (F1 > Extras > Memory card). - Mods folder.
mods/in the settings folder: each subfolder is a mod that
replaces disc files, or single resources inside every PAK (<id>.<TYPE>). - Discord Rich Presence on desktop, showing the room, world and completion.
You need your own Discord application id (F1 > Extras > Discord). - Most of these have a row in pause > Options too. The F1 overlay pages are now
Input, Controls, Render, Performance, Extras, Tracker, States, Session, Chat
and Debug; audio and voices moved into Debug, and the cheats hide behind a
"Show cheats" box.
Removed
- The fast-forward Skip Cutscenes option. It caused too many problems;
skippable cutscenes replace it.
Fixes
- Archipelago connects to real servers. Packets went out as bare JSON
objects, which real servers drop; they are arrays now. - Archipelago:
pre_scan_elevatorsis honoured, and the game's hint system is
off in randomized games.

keeps your save.
Verified, and not
All 21 port tests pass. The Linux binary, AppImage and Flatpak were built here
and report this commit; CI built the Windows zip. The APK carries versionCode 6.
The new features were checked in scripted runs on Linux; Archipelago only
against a local test server.
Not yet tested: Archipelago against a real server, a sweep of every room with a
skippable cutscene, real LiveSplit and the real Discord client, the new options
on Android and with a real gamepad, and Windows at runtime. Known open issues in
Archipelago: some major pickups still play the full item cutscene, and a pickup
can show the wrong model. Please report anything odd.
