You need your own disc image: Metroid Prime Trilogy (R3ME01 USA, R3MP01 PAL), Metroid Prime USA (GM8E01, revisions 1.00, 1.01 and 1.02), PAL (GM8P01). No disc image or game assets are included.
What changed
Gameplay
- Seamless item pickups (option, off by default and in the Original experience): no control lock or item cutscene, and the item's message shows as a HUD memo instead of pausing.
- The Custom walk speed has an on/off switch that keeps its value. Bind it to a custom action to use it as a sprint toggle.
Controls
- Map rotate and pan bindings, with matching button prompts on the map screen. Keys like WASD can pan the map without moving the C-stick in play.
- Touch: a touch on the map or a pointer menu brings back the hidden back and cog buttons.
- Android: the touch editor lists custom actions added after it first opened.
Reticles
- Trilogy's GameCube crosshair follows the Crosshair size setting again (#255).
- Trilogy's next-target and lock arrows no longer shake or trail behind what they mark.
Metroid Prime Remastered graphics
- Many more Remastered particle features: child systems per particle, swoosh variables, spline and ring settings, electric swooshes, sleep distance, depth bias and more.
- Lens flares fade behind walls and platforms, as in Remastered, instead of showing through them.
- The visor face reflection moves its eyes instead of turning, and the rain-splash effect runs only while something can splash.
- The Omega Pirate fight's healing nodules glow blue instead of drawing as dark stone.
- Room effects match Remastered more closely: effects Remastered dropped are hidden (such as the sparks after the Parasite Queen fight), effects it moved to another trigger no longer play twice, and debug-only layers stay unloaded.
Performance
- Faster startup, most of all on Android: the shader cache no longer checks every page at launch, and it no longer grows without bound.
Fixes
- Lines with one end behind the camera no longer streak across the screen.
