Metroid Dread Samus in Prime, a third-person camera (Very broken but I found it hilarious so you can check it out too!), Morph Ball controls and controller presets, reworked resolution scaling, lock-on free aim, a large batch of Prime Remastered models, effects and lighting, and savestates improvements.
You need your own disc image: Metroid Prime USA (GM8E01, revisions 1.00, 1.01 and 1.02) or the experimental PAL release (GM8P01). No disc image or game assets are included.
What changed
Metroid Dread Samus and third person
- Import Samus's suits from your own Metroid Dread dump (Mods page)
- A third-person gameplay camera over Samus's shoulder (Video > Display, off by default). Animations are still WIP
Controls
- Morph Ball rows for bomb, power bomb, boost, spider and unmorph, separate from gameplay controls (#167), and a Morph Ball page in the Android touch overlay.
- A Presets button on the Remap page (#196).
- Lock-on free aim: the pointer stays free while locked on, with or without pointer aim (#188).
- The scan window follows pointer aim (#190).
- Walk speed setting (50–200%), stacked beams fire at the selected beam's rate (#183), and a Phazon Beam cheat that replaces the Power Beam (#189).
- Hint delay setting and a Show current hint button.
Graphics
- Resolution scale and dynamic resolution reworked, with a frame-rate target up to the FPS cap (#186).
- Fog volumes no longer leave a yellow texture on the lava (#191).
- HUD billboard effects spread past 4:3 instead of stretching.
- Pipelines are tagged by area and prefetched as an area streams in.
Prime Remastered
- Many more Remastered models replace retail ones: the 12 artifacts, elevator platforms, Parasite Queen (jaw skin and barrier), the Elite Quarters stasis tank, pickups, Zoomers, Phendrana platforms and more.
- Remastered rain, snow and underwater flakes (EnvironmentFX), the visor rain splash, and more effects paired with their Remastered particles.
Savestates
- Enemies keep their AI, body state, animation and path; space pirates and the Metroid Prime exo restore mid-fight.
- Generated pickups and debris are saved, a save mid-cinematic resumes the cinematic, and the music that was playing comes back.
- Fixed a crash when a load restarted an enemy (seen on Android).
Fixes
- Switching mods off and reloading no longer crashes on models a mod had supplied.
