Gyro aim improvements, Remastered actor shadows and baked lighting, Wave Beam trails and electric arcs, Remastered movement improvements, new randomizer options, smoother dynamic resolution and a faster Remastered import.
You need your own disc image: Metroid Prime USA (GM8E01, revisions 1.00, 1.01 and 1.02) or the experimental PAL release (GM8P01). No disc image or game assets are included.
What changed
Controls
- Gyro aim rebuilt (#118): sensor-fusion auto calibration with a Recalibrate button, local, player or world space, smoothing and tightening, a natural sensitivity scale (1 = the same turn as the pad) independent of the mouse, a bindable gyro button with an optional toggle-to-aim mode, and an optional camera turn in pointer aim.
- The mouse sensitivity slider uses the Quake/Source scale, so a value from those games turns the same here, with a cm/360 readout (#119). Existing settings keep their feel.
- The twin stick's turn no longer wobbles at the pitch limit or at the screen edge in pointer aim (#128).
- Clicks turn scan pages and confirm the save choice (#120).
- Android: an Opacity slider for the touch controls (F1 > Touch) (#123); file select rows take taps again with pointer menus.
Movement and combat
- With Remastered movement, jumps, airborne collision, moving platforms, the collision failsafe and grounded movement follow Remastered (#117).
- With the FOV slider off retail, shots leave the drawn arm cannon but still hit what retail would, such as Omega Pirate's legs and Meta Ridley's mouth (#134).
Remastered
- Projected actor shadows and baked lighting sampled from one world-wide volume.
- Wave Beam swoosh trails and electric arcs, and charge effects aligned with the muzzle.
- A per-visor mesh filter and model opacity fixes.
- The import shows step progress, can leave parts out ("What to import"), reads in parallel on Windows and moves a finished import into place without a hitch. On Android, imports live in the app's private storage.
- A room-clash fix needs a re-import: the port reminds you at launch; run it from F1 > Remastered.
Graphics
- Dynamic resolution steers by the GPU's own frame time, with fewer and cheaper steps; a frame stretched to the window is sharpened.
- "Sun shadows" (Video > Quality) can be turned off for the Remastered look.
- Windows: F1 > Video > Compatibility > Renderer picks Direct3D 12, Vulkan or Direct3D 11 (Auto by default).
- Screenshots are no longer blank.
Randomizer and Archipelago
- New built-in seed options: energy tank capacity, and shuffled Unlimited Missiles and Unlimited Power Bombs. Existing seed texts give the same seeds.
- The save prompt offers Warp to start.
- Archipelago keeps each server room's progress apart, returns to the title when the room or seed changes, and logs every item and check from pickup to inventory.
Other
- A Dolphin or PrimeHack install is detected for the shared memory card (#115).
- Savestate fixes

The macOS app is ad-hoc signed, not notarized. Clear quarantine with xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "Metroid Prime Port.app" if needed. Metal rendering, input and audio still need broader real-device testing.
