A built-in randomizer, turbo fire and a floating touch stick, custom Vulkan
drivers on Android, an update notifier, and fixes for missing boss music (#20),
the scan visor on wide screens (#31), a sliding crosshair (#24), the map's right
stick (#21), scan dashing with mouse aim (#30) and black screens on machines without a usable GPU (#33).

What changed
New
- Built-in randomizer: F1 > Randomizer generates a seed that is checked to
be beatable and plays it, without an Archipelago server. Options include a
random start room and beam, blast shields and locked doors. Seeds switch at
the title screen, and old seeds can be deleted. Seedocs/RANDOMIZER.md. - Turbo fire (#10): bind "Turbo fire (hold)" in F1 > Controls (unbound by
default). On Android, F1 > Touch controls > "Turbo fire button" adds a T
button. - Remastered rapid-fire charge (optional, F1 > Controls > Buttons or the
pause menu): holding fire shoots a few quick shots and then charges, as in
Remastered. - Original experience toggle (F1, pause menu,
MP_ORIGINAL=1): turns off
every port enhancement at once without losing your settings. - Update notifier: once per launch the port checks GitHub for a newer
release and shows a toast you can click or tap. Turn it off in F1 > About. - Shaders compile at startup from a cache that covers the whole game, so
rooms stutter much less the first time you enter them. An optional toast
shows the progress (F1 > Video > Quality "Show shader compilation").
Fixes
- Boss music plays again (#20): a track queued behind one fading out was
sometimes dropped. - The scan visor locks the target in the centre on 16:9 and ultrawide
screens (#31), not one at the bottom left. - The crosshair stays fixed with smooth uncapped frames (#24) instead of
sliding and snapping back while turning. - Scan dashing works with mouse aim (#30): the dash keeps its momentum
instead of slowing to walking speed. - The right stick pans the map under the Remastered and Modern controller
schemes (#21). - No more black window on machines without a usable GPU (#33): the port
falls back to software rendering (slow, but it draws), and shows an error if
no renderer starts at all. - Remastered import reads
.xcidumps and converted.nspfiles (#35). - The Flatpak reports its real version and has network access (Archipelago and
the update check work there). - Less memory use at the title screen after quitting a game.
Android
- Floating left stick (#13), on by default: the stick appears where your
thumb lands on the left half. Turn it off in F1 > Touch controls. - Jump and Turbo aim when slid, like the Fire button.
- Custom Vulkan drivers (Turnip): F1 > Video > Compatibility > "Vulkan
driver" installs an AdrenoToolsDrivers zip. If a driver crashes, the port goes
back to the system driver. If one starts but draws wrongly, switch back to
"System" there. - "Adreno shader fix" (F1 > Video > Compatibility, Auto/Off/On) for the
black world on Adreno 7xx (#7); Auto turns it on for every Adreno 7xx under
Vulkan. - The mouse stays captured unless the F1 overlay is open.
Remastered import (very experimental, unsupported)
The Remastered import and everything built on it are very
experimental and currently unsupported. Removemods/remastered-models
to get the retail game back. Nothing changes unless you run the import
yourself, and nothing of Remastered ships with the port. Everything below
needs a re-import.
- Materials draw much closer to Remastered: over a hundred of its shaders now
match, including exact colour space handling, vertex tangents, alpha cutouts,
wind on foliage, Phazon, glass and refraction, and the HUD's pictures. - Remastered's point and spot lights now light rooms, and its ambient probes
are sampled as Remastered does. - More effects are paired with Remastered's.
