github ObolNetwork/lido-charon-distributed-validator-node v0.3.11

Summary

Recommended update for mainnet operators. This release keeps Charon on v1.11.2 and updates every client to its latest stable release, picking up this week's security fixes: Lighthouse v8.3.1 updates its trusted certificates after the eMudhra certificate authority compromise, Nethermind 2.2.0 includes Microsoft's October .NET security fixes, and the monitoring images are rebuilt on patched Go releases. lido-dv-exit v0.6.0 stops polling the Obol API every slot while waiting for exit messages, and is built with the patched Go release. Another patch release may follow in the coming days, as more clients push fixes for the security incidents this week. Please update promptly when the fixes for the clients you run are available.

Important

Hoodi operators should not use this release. It doesn't support the Glamsterdam (Gloas) fork on Hoodi (October 26, 2026). Use v0.4.0-rc2 on Hoodi instead.

To update to this version, please run the following commands:

# Stop the node
docker compose down
# Save your local .env / custom overrides
git stash
# Update your local copy of this repo
git pull
# Checkout this release
git checkout v0.3.11
# Re-apply your stashed changes
git stash apply
# Restart the node
docker compose up -d

If you pin client versions in your .env (for example LIGHTHOUSE_VERSION or EL_NETHERMIND_VERSION), remove those lines or update them to the versions below, or your node keeps running the pinned versions.

Upgrade notes

  • Lighthouse v8.3.x migrates its database. To downgrade to v8.2.x later, stop the beacon node and use the v8.3.1 binary to migrate the database back first. See the Lighthouse v8.3.0 release notes.
  • Nethermind 1.39 → 2.2 upgrades in place without a resync. If you pass your own Nethermind settings, check the 2.0.0 and 2.2.0 breaking changes. This repository's default flags are unaffected.
  • Reth v2.8.0 changes a few RPC defaults (the gas price oracle and minimum priority fee). See the Reth release notes.
  • lido-dv-exit v0.6.0 backs off its Obol API requests while a cluster hasn't reached the threshold of partial exits, so a full exit message can take up to about 50 minutes to arrive after your cluster reaches quorum.
  • Docker image builds: the Nimbus validator client image is built locally on top of the official one, so the first docker compose up -d after updating takes a little longer.
