Changes since 26.08.0-beta.1.

Critical fix — streaming restored

26.08.0-beta.1 could not stream and should not be used. Its bundled LuminalVGD driver (build 8) refused every control request, so per-client virtual displays were never created: streams silently fell back to capturing the physical desktop (wrong resolution / black bars) with the host monitors left on.

• The bundled driver is now LuminalVGD v0.1.0-alpha.2 — Milestone 1 Proto Driver (0.1.0.11) with working control-surface authorization (SYSTEM / elevated Administrators, evaluated at request time, fail closed, fully ETW-traced). (#89, #90)
• The host now opens the driver's control device with the security opt-in UMDF requires to evaluate the caller, and logs the exact failing step and Win32 error if the driver is ever unreachable — this failure class can no longer hide. (#89)

Verified end to end on the installed service: per-client 4K HDR virtual display, exclusive display topology, direct frame-ring capture, hardware-cursor composition — streaming to LG C2 (webOS) and macOS Moonlight clients at native resolution.

SudoVDA fully retired at runtime

• The runtime never selects or touches SudoVDA anymore: no registry recreation of SudoMaker keys, no legacy open/retry ladder against a driver that cannot exist. Legacy virtual_display_backend values (sudovda, mtt) map to auto with a warning. (#87)
• Driver status recovery: a transient startup failure no longer pins the About page at "Failed to initialize" — the status probe retries (rate-limited) until the driver responds, and the Audio/Video "Re-check driver" button works. (#87)

Web UI

• LuminalVGD is presented as the only virtual display backend: About page shows its proper name, the backend dropdown no longer offers SudoVDA, and help text no longer steers users toward it. (#88)

Upgrade notes

• The installer bundles and installs the LuminalVGD Milestone 1 driver and removes SudoVDA (driver, certificates, registry) if detected — on new installs, updates, and reinstalls alike.
• If you installed 26.08.0-beta.1: simply run this installer over it.
