F1 Sensor 6.2 brings a new way to follow practice and qualifying in Home Assistant. Optional push-lap views help you spot likely fast attempts, while improvements to timing, session status and track maps make the action easier to follow.
Meet F1 Sensor: Formula 1 in Home Assistant
Follow the laps that matter
The Timing module can now bring likely push laps to the top of the table, or show only those attempts. Available during practice, qualifying and sprint qualifying, these views order drivers by their approximate progress around the circuit, helping you see who is approaching the finish line next.
During qualifying and sprint qualifying, you can also show cumulative time differences at each sector against the best valid lap in the current session part. This gives each attempt useful context as it develops, with comparisons left unavailable when the feed does not provide enough valid data.
Both options are off by default. Open the Timing module’s options to choose Push laps first or Push laps only, then enable Show difference to best lap if you want the qualifying comparisons.
Easier to explore and configure
The documentation now has searchable entity and module references, focused guides and clearer setup examples, making it easier to find the information you need for a dashboard or automation.
This release also adds Catalan and Simplified Chinese integration translations, alongside updates to existing translations.

New features
-
Compare push laps with the best qualifying lap
The F1 Sensor integration and live data card add optional cumulative push-lap differences against the best valid lap in the current qualifying or sprint qualifying part. Differences use neutral text with clear plus and minus signs, while sector times keep their existing colors. -
Highlight drivers on push laps
The F1 Sensor integration identifies likely push laps during practice, qualifying and sprint qualifying. The live data card can place these drivers first or show them alone in track order, with the feature off by default. -
Add a fallback for the 2027 season opener
The F1 Sensor integration and live data card use the 2027 Bahrain opener to keep next-race details, countdowns, track time and Race Week available during the calendar gap. Provisional start times are clearly identified, and published Jolpica data takes priority when available.
Bug fixes
-
Restore light colors after closely spaced flag alerts
The Track Status Light blueprint now preserves the original light state when a new flag alert interrupts the CLEAR restore delay, so lights return to their previous state instead of staying green. -
Hide eliminated qualifying cars after they return to the pits
Stopped and retired cars are also hidden consistently in the live data card, including standalone track maps. -
Restore live data card access for non-admin users
The F1 Sensor integration and modular live data card now load and update for users without administrator rights, including Race Control history and new messages. Fixes #952 -
Correct personal best sector times during qualifying
Personal best sector times now update correctly within each qualifying segment, keeping sector comparisons and theoretical lap times accurate in the live data card. Fixes #971 -
Keep final session data available longer
The F1 Sensor integration now keeps live data available for 60 seconds plus the configured live delay after the session reaches its final end status. This gives users more time to review the final results after the finish. Fixes -
Keep session status suspended until restart
Clearing a red track flag no longer marks a suspended session as live, keeping dashboards and automations aligned with the session status. Fixes #982 -
Receive final laps before closing live timing
The F1 Sensor integration keeps live timing connected until sessions are fully finalised, allowing valid final laps to arrive across all session types. Qualifying breaks remain supported, and delayed updates finish before the connection closes. Fixes #958. -
Restore team radio transcription during live sessions
The F1 Sensor integration can now find the audio needed for team radio transcription in more live session conditions.
