Team Radio
Bring a little more race weekend into your dashboard! Play the drivers’ Team Radio messages and follow along with AI-generated transcriptions using a Home Assistant AI Task. Want your own pit wall crew? A blueprint can start transcriptions automatically.
Your sensors, your choice
Prefer a tidy Home Assistant entity list? Choose which F1 Sensor entities to expose, independently of the data your F1 Sensor card uses. Your dashboard still gets the information it needs, while your entity list stays yours to shape.
Formula 1 access, explained
Not sure what you can see with public timing, a free Formula 1 account, or paid access? We’ve made the differences clearer, based on what we could verify. Access can vary by plan, so check the guide for the details.
Help F1 Sensor speak your language
Bonjour, hej, hola! Help translate F1 Sensor or polish an existing language in Weblate. You can also get an AI-assisted first pass underway, then let native speakers add the human touch and get the Formula 1 wording just right.
This list includes all changes since the previous stable release.
New features
- Add automatic team radio transcription
The new blueprint automatically transcribes F1 Sensor team radio clips and lets users filter by one or more teams or drivers, or include everyone. Transcription uses the selected AI Task provider and may incur charges. - Add manual Team Radio transcription control
The experimental live data card now provides a discreet Transcribe button beside the audio controls for the latest radio message. Users can select their AI Task entity in the module settings and start transcription on demand while avoiding unnecessary repeat processing. - Expand live data card translation support
The live data card now supports all configured F1 Sensor languages through Weblate, with English fallback whenever a translation is unavailable. Existing setups continue to work without configuration changes, while future translations can be delivered without card code changes. - Improve dashboard card issue reporting
Bug reports now identify whether they concern the modular or deprecated dashboard card. Reports for the deprecated card receive guidance to migrate, with no further development planned for the legacy card. - Show gaps to the fastest practice lap
The F1 Sensor integration supplies practice gaps for a new optional Gap to fastest lap column in the live data card. Driver and team filters preserve the session-wide reference, and corrected or deleted lap times update the gaps. Fixes #919 - Choose exposed sensors independently of F1 Sensor card data
The F1 Sensor integration lets you choose which sensors to expose in Home Assistant, while the modular F1 Sensor card automatically gets its data even when the corresponding sensors are disabled or not exposed. Existing sensor selections are preserved and no reconfiguration is required, keep sensors used by deprecated cards, templates or automations enabled. - Add driver and team details to Team Radio
The experimental Team Radio sensor now identifies the driver and team for each clip, including its recent history. These attributes can be used to filter dashboard content and create driver-specific or team-specific automations, with setup details included in the documentation. Fixes #851 - Restore experimental team radio transcription
Transcribe team radio clips with a Google Gemini AI Task and display the results in dashboards. This experimental action runs only when requested, requires configured F1TV access for audio, and may incur AI provider charges. - Show scheduled race and sprint laps
The F1 Sensor integration now shows planned lap counts for the next race and sprint, and in the season schedule. Counts remain unknown when the source does not provide them. Fixes #917
Bug fixes
- Handle missing Track Status Light snapshots
The Track Status Light blueprint now uses the configured CLEAR color or WLED preset when no snapshot exists. Session cleanup skips missing snapshots while preserving normal restoration. Fixes #926 - Correct Team Radio transcription setup and theming
The live data card now provides an AI Task entity selector, starts Team Radio transcription correctly, and follows the selected light or dark card theme. - Format qualifying gaps in the live data card
Qualifying timing gaps now display to three decimal places instead of showing raw numbers. Fixes #918. - Keep delayed dashboard updates reliable
- Prevent corner label overlap and smooth circuit outlines
The live data card places corner numbers clear of the track and other labels and displays smoother circuit outlines across supported circuits. Fixes #929 - Show available pit visit counts when stop details are missing
The live data card shows per-driver pit visit counts even when detailed stop records are unavailable. Partial records and pit lane timing are clearly identified, while unknown lap and stationary times remain unavailable. Fixes #931 - Stop live data card flashing after editing
Keep the live data card stable after leaving dashboard edit mode in Masonry views while preserving automatic sizing in Sections views. Fixes #771. - wait for promotion verification registration
Avoid duplicate development and pull-request check suites when GitHub registers the promotion PR run moments after the branch push. - tolerate delayed release assets
Release verification now repairs a matching draft before GitHub exposes every uploaded asset and retries the release lookup for longer. This prevents valid beta and stable releases from failing solely because GitHub's release API is eventually consistent. - Verify release tags from GitHub directly
- Clarify when replay sessions need loading
Before the first refresh, Replay Mode now prompts you to load sessions instead of saying the selected year has none. Session loading remains on demand to avoid unnecessary archive requests. Fixes #903 - Correct Replay Mode account guidance
Setup guidance, replay error messages, and documentation now clarify that Replay Mode requires a Formula 1 account, not a paid subscription. - Keep Home Assistant responsive during replay fast-forward
Large replay jumps no longer freeze Home Assistant or cause unexpected restarts, while preserving lap, sector and tyre history. Stopping playback or switching sessions prevents the previous session from restarting unexpectedly. - Keep team radio history aligned with available clips
Team radio history now clears when clip data resets and reflects the current replay position after seeking. Reloading the F1 Sensor integration no longer restores links to clips that are no longer available. Fixes #887 - Keep tyre lap counts updating after stops on the same tyres
Tyre lap counts now continue updating after stops without a tyre change, and used tyres are correctly shown as used after subsequent changes. Fixes #920. - Preserve available live pit lane times
F1 Sensor retains available live pit lane times when complete stop details are missing. Stationary times remain unknown unless supplied by the detailed feed, and coverage still depends on the session. - Preserve race lap totals when the live data card opens later
The F1 Sensor integration preserves a known race lap total during live updates. The live data card can then display it even when opened after the session starts. - Prevent errors after no further action decisions
The F1 Sensor integration and live data card continue updating investigations after a decision to take no further action, preventing repeated errors. - Prevent stale pit counts and restore Team Radio playback
Pit counts reset for each new live session instead of carrying over totals from the previous session. Available Team Radio clips play correctly when the session has not yet appeared in the timing archive. - Prevent team radio Recorder size warnings
Large team radio histories and transcripts are excluded from database history to prevent Recorder size warnings and discarded attributes. Full clip history and transcripts remain available in dashboards and automations. - Sort manifest dependencies for Home Assistant validation
Improvements
- Improve release recovery after interrupted GitHub writes
Release creation now retries transient GitHub write failures and safely recovers draft releases when a version tag was created before the release process was interrupted. - Keep release recovery tests aligned with release checks
Update release recovery test expectations to account for the additional release metadata lookup and continue verifying that published drafts are never overwritten.

Documentation
- Add translation and AI-assisted workflow guide
Explain how users can translate through Weblate or sponsor an AI-assisted first pass before reviewing and refining the language. - Clarify public timing and free or paid Formula 1 access
Explain the verified differences between no account token, a free Formula 1 account and tested paid access without promising the same permissions for every plan. Separate token health, account permissions and session publication, and clarify live versus archive access and renewal limits. - Explain live pit counts and partial stop timing
The Pit Stops guide distinguishes reported pit visits, stationary time, pit-lane time and estimated lap loss. Access guidance and live data card help explain partial data, replay differences and the remaining limits of live stop timing. - Show Home Assistant branding on the documentation homepage
The documentation homepage now identifies F1 Sensor as a community integration for Home Assistant and clarifies that the project is independent.
