F1 Sensor 6.0 is a major release that makes Replay Mode more reliable while bringing more detail, context, and personalisation to the live data card. It also responds to a significant provider-side change from Formula 1 that affects access to historical timing data.
⚠️ Important: Replay Mode now requires F1TV access ⚠️
Formula 1 has changed access to its historical timing archive. As a result, Replay Mode, replay downloads, archived telemetry, and archived team radio now require an active paid F1TV subscription with F1TV access configured in F1 Sensor.
This is a breaking change for anyone who previously used archive and replay features without F1TV access. Public live timing remains available without a subscription, including normal session timing, Race Control messages, weather, tyre information, and other public live data. If you use Replay Mode or archive media, configure F1TV access before updating so you can continue using those features.
Help F1 Sensor speak your language
Translations for the Live Data Card are now managed through Weblate. Anyone can contribute directly in the browser, no code, GitHub account, or development setup required.
Whether you translate a few labels, complete a language, or help improve an existing translation, every contribution makes F1 Sensor more welcoming and useful for Home Assistant users around the world.
A clearer and more detailed race weekend
Replay Mode can now recognise verified race and sprint lap starts, along with Q1, Q2, Q3 and Sprint Qualifying session starts. The live data card lets you jump directly to these moments while keeping playback paused or running as you prefer.
The Track Map can now show verified circuit information for supported layouts, including start and finish lines, corner numbers, sector boundaries, speed traps, and detection or activation points. You choose which layers to show in each Track Map module, while unsupported sessions continue to display the circuit and driver positions normally.
Timing rows are also more useful at a glance. Latest laps can show personal-best and overall-fastest colours, and selected drivers can be expanded to reveal the information and recent laps that matter to you without cluttering the main timing table. Minisector status is now available as a selectable display too, either as its own block or beneath sector times.

New features
- Add 2026 preseason track map baselines
The F1 Sensor integration and live data card now include preseason map markings for Austin, Mexico City, São Paulo, Qatar and Abu Dhabi based on the previous season’s FIA layouts. The card identifies those markings as baselines so users can assess them and report corrections before current-season data is available. - Add lap and qualifying sync points to Replay Mode
The F1 Sensor integration now identifies verified lap starts for races and sprints and Q1–Q3 or SQ1–SQ3 starts for qualifying sessions. The live data card lets users jump replay playback to these points while preserving the current play or pause state. Fixes #843 - Show timing colors for the latest lap
The F1 Sensor integration now preserves fastest-lap status so the live data card can highlight personal-best and overall-fastest latest laps with configured colors and accessible indicators. Fixes #826 - Enable community translations for the Live Data Card
Live Data Card translations now use Weblate-compatible files while preserving the existing English, Swedish, and Dutch experience. Translation updates can now follow the same automated review workflow as the integration.
Bug fixes
- Remove unavailable Mini Sector module
The live data card no longer lists the unavailable Mini Sector module after its integration support was removed. - Clear investigations when sessions change
The F1 Sensor integration now removes investigations from the previous session while preserving new incidents in the current session. It also recognizes incidents scheduled for review after the session. Fixes #829 - Correct live grid positions after race penalties
The F1 Sensor integration now uses the confirmed starting grid for live driver positions, keeping positions gained or lost accurate when penalties change the qualifying order. Fixes #830 - Keep current tyre stints stable without a tyre change
The F1 Sensor integration now ignores unchanged tyre stints until a real tyre change is reported, preventing tyre details and stint lap counts from jumping between conflicting values. Fixes #831 - Restore replay downloads with F1TV authentication
The F1 Sensor integration now uses configured F1TV access for replay discovery, downloads, archive telemetry, and team radio while public live timing remains available without authentication. Team radio media is delivered through protected Home Assistant links, and authentication failures now provide actionable status. Fixes #869. BREAKING CHANGE: Replay Mode and Formula 1 archive media now require an active paid F1TV subscription with F1TV access configured in the integration. Users without it can continue using public live timing but cannot browse or download replays. - Keep championship predictions current when leaders stay the same
The F1 Sensor integration now updates predicted driver and team standings even when the predicted leaders do not change. Dashboards and automations receive current positions and points throughout the session. Fixes #828. - Keep the Replay Mode update focused on replay controls
The Replay Mode enhancement no longer includes unfinished Mini Sector card options. Existing replay sync points, modular card behavior, and language fallback continue to work as documented.
Documentation
- Add Weblate translation link
Help contributors find the hosted translation workspace directly from the project README. Translation contributions are documented as pull requests targeting the development branch. - Refresh F1 Sensor project overview
The README now offers a shorter welcome, documentation-first journey, clear community links and a visible Hosted Weblate translation path. It also places GitHub Sponsors early for readers who want to support F1 Sensor.
