2026.2.0-beta1

Welcome to 2026! We are here with the first beta release of Parabolic V2026.2.0.

This release contains a complete overhaul of the downloading engine as it was rewritten from C++ to C#. This will provide us with more stable performance and faster iteration of highly requested features (see the long list below!!). The UIs for both Windows and Linux were also ported to C# and got a face last providing smoother and more beautiful downloading experience.

Besides a rewrite, this release contains many new features (including quality and subtitle options for playlists - finally!) and plenty of bug fixes with an updated yt-dlp.

We urge all current Parabolic users to download, install and test this release with us as we work towards 2026.2.0 stable. We still have a few more features and bug fixes to implement that can be tracked here: https://github.com/NickvisionApps/Parabolic/milestone/42 .

NOTE: This release drops snap packaging support for Parabolic on Linux.
