With 2.6, we’re excited to bring you Vortex’s biggest feature yet: Health Check! Whether you're gearing up for a cosy weekend of gaming or meticulously fine-tuning a brand new load order, we've got a brilliant new update to keep things running smoothly.
Here is a quick look at what’s new!
🩺 New Feature: Health Check
Say goodbye to the guessing game of broken loadouts! We’ve introduced Health Check, a brilliant new tool that acts as your personal mod detective. By tapping into the new file-level requirements on Nexus Mods, Vortex will now give you a handy heads-up before you launch if a required file is completely missing, the wrong version, or simply sitting inactive. It even gives you the option to select the right mod for your personal setup to fix the issue. Plus, if you're a Premium user, you can resolve those missing dependencies with a quick one-click install without ever leaving the app.
Results update automatically as you enable, remove, or download mods. "Either/Or" mod requirements finally behave themselves, showing the correct action if you already have an alternative downloaded or disabled. Plus, if you're logged out or we're experiencing a service outage, Vortex will actually tell you what's wrong instead of pretending everything’s normal. Oh, and expect far fewer pop-ups when installing fixes!
✨ A Polished, Smarter Interface
We’ve given the interface a proper polish! Tooltips now reposition themselves so they never wander off-screen. If your Vortex window is a bit narrow, toolbar controls will tuck themselves into an overflow menu instead of vanishing into the void. We’ve also redesigned the Extensions page, added a handy one-click 'clear' button to Games search, and ensured dropdown menus no longer awkwardly hide behind the sidebar.
📦 Bigger, Better Collections
For the mod curators out there, our new upload API now supports significantly larger Collection bundles, and upload progress will actually reach 100% instead of stalling right at the finish line. We’ve also fixed a nasty memory crash loop when updating massive Collections with thousands of mods, and stopped the endless error pop-ups when browsing Collections whilst logged out.
⚙️ Under the Hood: React 18
Behind the scenes, we've completely upgraded the underlying framework that powers Vortex to React 18. This massive milestone touches every single screen in the app and paves the way for some brilliant UI updates in the future!
🐛 Spot a Bug? Let Us Know!
